3. If you do everything correctly, then you will have a similar tab in front of you, as in the screenshot below. You just have to activate Airplane Mode.
4. Then, when you’ve done that, head back to the Instagram app and open the appropriate dialogue.
5. Read all the messages you write and exit the chat. To do this, click once on the left arrow icon.
6. Now, call the phone menu again and turn off the ” Airplane mode” option . As you can see in the screenshot below, the messages were left unread. The thing is that when the ” Airplane mode ” function is activated , the Internet does not work. Therefore, the social networking system cannot recognize that you have opened a dialogue.
7. There is also a second method that allows you to read a message in direct on Instagram and leave it unread.

But, it’s worth saying right away that it will only work if you have not yet removed the notification of the incoming message.

If you have not done so, then simply open the panel with all notifications and read the received Internet letter. In this situation, the system of the social network Instagram will not be able to find out that you have seen the content of a message from another user.

Iphone

If you want to read a message in direct on Instagram and leave it unread, then use one of two methods that are relevant specifically for iPhone. First option:

1. We pass to the official application from the social network Instagram. Click once on the main icon of the ” Direct” section , which is located in the upper right part of the screen.
2. This will take you to a page with all your Instagram conversations. As you can see in the screenshot below, I have four unread messages from one of the users.
3. As you have already noticed, the content of the online email is hidden from us. Therefore, we call the main menu of the iPhone. This is done by swiping the screen up. You will need to put your phone into Airplanemode . To do this, click once on the airplane icon.
4. If the mode has been successfully activated, you can return to the dialogs tab and open the very correspondence where there are unread messages. When you are familiar with the content, return to the previous tab. This is done by clicking on the arrow pointing to the left.
5. Then, turn off the ” Airplane” mode . That, in fact, is all. As you can see in the screenshot below, the dialogue remained unread. The thing is that the Internet was disconnected. Therefore, our interlocutor will not be shown that we have read the dialogue with him.

There is another way to view the content of the message through the iPhone. However, this algorithm of actions will work only if you have a notification that the user has sent you a message. It is enough to do just a few actions:

1. We call the panel with all the notifications on the phone. Find a suitable message and move it to the left.
2. Three items will appear on the screen. Click once on the ” Watch” column .
3. That, in fact, is all. So you can fully familiarize yourself with the text of the message, while the interlocutor will not know that you have read it.

On the computer

Unfortunately, it is possible to read a message in direct on Instagram and leave it unread only through mobile devices. For a personal computer, there are no analogous methods that were presented above. The user is given the opportunity to see only part of the last message that another person sent.
