TikTok is a fairly transparent platform in some aspects, such as the possibility of knowing who has seen your profile by activating a simple button . However, there are other details such as knowing who has blocked you on TikTok that are not so easy to discover.
As is the case on Facebook or Telegram , to find out if a contact or acquaintance has blocked us on TikTok, what we have to do is check a series of indications . If we see that all of them are fulfilled, it is most likely that that person has blocked us on TikTok.
3 tricks to know if someone has blocked you on TikTok
In the case of TikTok, to find out if someone has blocked us, what we have to do is find their username, check our list of followers and review our direct messages.
1- Find your username in the TikTok app
This is the simplest and easiest method to check. Open the TikTok app, go to the home screen (Home), and click on the search bar (magnifying glass icon) located in the upper right margin. Next, type the name of the user you think has blocked you.
If their user profile doesn’t appear in the results, then ask a friend you know who hasn’t been blocked by that person to do the same search. If the user appears to your friend, but it does not appear to you , then everything indicates that you have been blocked.
2- Check your list of “Followers” and “Following”
If the first trick didn’t work for you, go to your profile and take a look at your list of followers. If that person followed you and no longer appears on the list… bad sign. Similarly, if you followed that person yourself, go to your “Following” list and see if their username is still on the list.
If the user has “magically” disappeared from the list of people you follow on TikTok, they most likely have blocked you (unless you unfollowed them voluntarily, and you no longer remember).
3- Check your Direct Messages
When a user blocks you, the conversations you’ve had with that person are displayed in a different way . Therefore, go to “Notifications”, open your direct message mailbox (icon in the shape of a paper airplane, located in the upper right corner of the screen) and look for a conversation with that person.
Instead of showing your username you will see something like “ Account found ” and your profile picture will appear empty . If you click on the chat you will see that you can read the messages, but you will not be able to send any new messages.
Please note that when someone deletes their TikTok profile, their username will also appear as “Account not found”. However, the big difference is that when the account has been deleted the conversation simply appears blank . So, if you can still read the messages you’ve exchanged with that person but you can’t send new messages, it’s most likely because they have blocked you on TikTok.
If after doing all this you see that the person does not appear when you search for them on TikTok, they have disappeared from your list of followers and followers, and you cannot send them direct messages either, that means they have blocked you.
