How to go to a specific folder on the Mac

There are many, many files that we end up storing on our Mac over time. In order to maintain order, we use folders, with their subfolders and sub-subfolders. An efficient organization, but that can make it difficult for us to quickly access a specific folder . Something that, fortunately, we can solve very easily in three different ways.

Three shortcuts to open any folder on our Mac at hyperspeed

The simplest way to have any folder on your Mac always at hand is to add the folder itself to the Dock . To do this, simply drag it to it, just to the left of the trash can (being careful not to delete it). From here a single click will give us access to its content.

Another option, similar to the previous one, is to add a shortcut to the folder to our desktop . Doing it is also very easy, we simply locate the folder in question and right click on it to choose Create Aliases . Once this is done, we will have another folder equal to the original one, but it will have a small black arrow next to the name. This is the one that we will drag to the desktop so that, when we need it, we can double-click on it and access the original.

The third option is to add the folder in question to the Finder sidebar . To access it, we must first open a Finder window and then open the folder itself. It is one more click, true, but due to the nature of the sidebar we can store several folders without taking up much space. All we have to do is drag the folder or folders under the “Favorites” section, nothing more.

How to know the RAM, hard drive, speed and other characteristics of our Mac

Just like when we talk about unzipping Mac files at full speed , there are some other resources that we can use. One is to use third-party apps or create a shortcut to open a specific folder, but the three that we have exposed are really simple and, in addition, very fast. Resources with which we will access the content we need just when it is. Easy and fast .
