Connecting the AirPods to the Mac requires very few steps, but first, however, let’s quickly review the compatibility between models and versions of the operating system . To connect second-generation AirPods, our Mac must be running macOS Mojave 10.14.4 or later. To connect AirPods Pro we need at least macOS Catalina 10.15.1. And to connect some AirPods 3 we need macOS Monterey .
If we have already connected our headphones to an iPhone and we are logged in with the same Apple ID on both the iPhone and the computer, connecting the AirPods to the Mac is as easy as putting them on and going to the Bluetooth or Volume menu, from the menu bar , and select them .
If they do not appear, we just have to link them to the Mac. We will do it by following these steps:
- From the Apple () menu we choose System Preferences.
- We enter Bluetooth.
- If necessary, tap on Activate Bluetooth.
- We put both headphones in their case and open the lid.
