Call of Duty Vanguard – How to Unlock Gorenko
The first season of COD Vanguard is finally here. And we all know what that means. New weapons! The Gorenko is a sniper rifle in COD Vanguard, which has arrived in the game with the Season 1 update. Like the Cooper Carbine , the Gorenko is available for both Warzone Pacific and Vanguard.
The Gorenko is a heavy semi-automatic rifle that offers the most damage / shot of any ballistics-based weapon. Therefore, being heavy, you can easily shoot any enemy in Vanguard Multiplayer. Yes!
The only problem is, despite being a semiautomatic, its high-caliber rounds produce hard kicks. Which makes the recoil of this weapon difficult to control. So no spam right from the start.
But that doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed. Recoil could easily be reduced by using some barrel accessories. Or, if you are a ‘prime sniper’ like me. You can build a loadout that gives you increased rate of fire and ADS speed, and go into full ‘aggressive sniping’ mode.
Overall, a really impressive sniper rifle. And I can already see that this weapon will become the best option for Warzone players in the days to come. Also, you can see how impressive the weapon looks.
How to unlock
Like Cooper Carbine, you don’t have access to Gorenko immediately after starting Vanguard. This weapon is exclusive to Season 1 and requires some effort to unlock. This is how you do it:
- Go multiplayer
- Click on the Battle Pass tab
- Go to level 31
- You will notice that Gorenko is an unlockable level 31 battle pass
- Now only collect XP to reach level 31
- You will get the weapon
Now if you are new to COD. You might think that the weapon is tied to the Vanguard Season 1 Battle Pass. Which means you would need real money or COD points to get it. But that’s not the case, even if you don’t buy the Battle Pass, you will get 20 free levels that all players can unlock. The Gorenko is part of those free levels. Which means you can get this new weapon for free.

Like you, I am playing the game right now. I already bought 31 levels of battle passes and unlocked the Gorenko. But, first I have to level up the weapon to 70.
