How to defend on Train in CS: GO

Last time we looked at the terrorist side on the Cobblestone map.

Today we go to the Train map with a guide for special forces. So, let’s go!

Train, like Cobblestone, has undergone many changes over the years due to balance issues.

The map consists of two territories – an alley and a corridor.

Your task is to prevent terrorists from detonating two nuclear weapons.

Defensive side

Long distances prevail on the map

Let’s start with the internal bomb site. Usually terrorists smoke from the upper area, then go down from the ramp. After the smoke is over, you will not be able to tell if they have moved forward unless you have an ally closer to the bomb train. However, you can blindly shoot your automatic rifle straight into the smoke, dealing a lot of damage if you hit the target. Plus, long ranges make the automatic rifle an excellent weapon for retakes.

My favorite place is the bomb train. You can circle around the train as much as you like, waiting for reinforcements, especially if your allies with their rifles are protecting you from enemies.

If you are successful, you can be the first to shoot the enemy in the head. Then you can use hammers to distance the advance, step back and call for reinforcements. Usually your opponents use flash grenades and smoke before attacking from above, in which case you will know about this and you will have the opportunity to retreat.

Avoid approaching enemies on anti-eco rounds

You might want to be a ninja and go for some unexpected heroic gameplay. One good spot is between the coils. I usually advise against approaching enemies in anti-eco rounds due to the risk that they will be able to get weapons and a chance to take control of the game. But in the second round, if you manage to win the pistol round, you can take the machine gun. The $ 600 earned from killing with an SMG can give you a great edge in the game. I lost count of the triple kills I got from that position in the second round.

Sometimes you want to show great communication skills. Instruct your allies to stay close to you and get ready to spy on, then throw a flash grenade the moment you stand next to the safety box on the wall. The grenade will light up any terrorist who is at the bottom of the stairs. As soon as your ally hears an explosion, he will be able to quickly look in, and preferably kill the enemy.

Defense outside

The location consists of three parts: t-connector, ivy and a room with stairs

You can usually just control corners and shoot opponents in groups. The location contains three chokes: a t-connector, ivy, and a room with stairs. But sometimes you might want to change tactics and try something new.

For example, you can use ivy. All you have to do is throw a flash grenade off the floor and run as fast as possible. The death of enemies is guaranteed.

Of course, not everything is so simple, but the general meaning is clear. You can achieve good results with ivy. If the opposing team has AWP, but your team does not, you should be aggressive and you can get AWP . As a last resort, you will receive valuable information. If you know that opponents are playing leisurely, you can try to sneak up to them. Otherwise, it’s better to retreat and help your allies to blow up the train.

Since Train is easy to defend, here are some tips for playing when you’re on the receiving end. Imagine a scenario like this: your opponents have a few rounds advantage and you have little money. You decide to take control of the situation. You buy a MAG-7 shotgun and light your way into the stairs room. It’s a risky strategy, but you can win this round if you manage to sneak up on the terrorist, kill him and take his AK-47 .

Be careful!

It would seem that winning the CT game on Train is very easy. However, there are two things to keep in mind: this is also easy for your opponents, and the long distances make it difficult to win eco rounds. Therefore, take care of expensive weapons. You want to have as few eco-rounds as possible. These strategies will help you win. Don’t run after the last terrorist unless you are confident that you can inflict a lot of damage on the enemy without damaging your budget.
