How can you customize your speed dial page in Opera browser?

On the speed dial page you can not only configure the tabs you always use but you also have fun options like changing the theme, changing the font type and even adjusting the number of columns you want to have. If you restore it correctly, you will have a perfect home page that can even combine with the vertical tabs of the browser , if you have them.

To change the browser theme

To change the Opera browser theme, the first thing you need to do is open a new tab to have the main speed dial page.

Then, at the top of the screen, right next to the web page search bar, you will find a series of options. The first 5 options correspond to configuration and access mode of the web page and the following ones correspond to the browser. You have to click on the last option that says ‘Easy Configuration’ and follow each of the steps that we show you below.

  • After selecting the ‘Settings’ option, a menu will appear on the right side of the screen, the first option in the menu is the one that corresponds to the theme. You have 3 options to choose from: ‘ Automatic and Dark’ .
  • You can choose the theme you prefer, but you can also press the option that says ‘Settings’ and which is on the far right of the word ‘Theme’.
  • Hit the settings option and choose the color you prefer to have for the theme.
  • After selecting the color, to the second option that corresponds to the wallpaper. You can select any of the list of options that the browser offers you.
  • If you want to add a background corresponding to an external image,press the option that says ‘Add Wallpaper’, a new tab will open from which you can access your files and select the image you prefer.

If you want to change the browser font

From the Opera settings you have 4 font types that you can use to improve the look. They are all practical and beautiful, but we recommend that you have  the latest browser update so that you can enjoy each of these options. After updating, follow the steps that we show you below, only then can you choose the type of font that best suits your taste.

  • From the browser, press the Opera logo that is located in the upper left corner of the screen.
  • Scroll down until you find the ‘Settings’ option and press.
  • A new tab will open, in it you must scroll to the last options where you will find one that says ‘Aspect’.
  • You will find several options, including changing the font size and just below you will have an option that says ‘Customize Fonts’, select it.
  • The tab will load and then the font types will appear. Choose the one you prefer and that’s it. There is no need to press ‘Save’ at any time as it saves automatically.
  • If you can’t get these options in your browser, even after updating it, it is most likely that you need to update your computer’s operating system.

To adjust the number of columns

  • From the browser press the Opera logo located in the upper left corner of the screen.
  • Scroll down until you find ‘Settings’ and select it.
  • A new tab will open. In it you will see a line on the left side of the screen where the options are: ‘GX, Basic, Advanced’, press ‘Advanced’ and then ‘Browser’.
  • When the page loads you will notice that you have a menu called ‘Home Page’, locate the option that says ‘Automatically adjust the maximum number of columns’ 
  • When you click on it, the box will appear for you to choose the columns you want to have. Opera usually keeps this option on auto and the columns are always 7, but you can select up to 14.

How to add a Clock Widget or Weather Widget to your Opera speed dial page?

Opera’s speed dial page not only allows you to have shortcuts but you can also add widgets like clock and weather to them. Having a clock widget on your computer is very practical because many of them even allow you to set an alarm.

However, to do it in Opera you need an extension that you can get on the web. Among the most practical and famous are Weather and oClok, after downloading them you can add it to the main screen just by selecting the (+) symbol and that’s it.

What to do to customize the sidebar of the home page of this browser?

Opera’s sidebar is undoubtedly a wonderful tool that makes it much easier for you to access web pages, extensions, and even personal applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

To activate and customize it, you only have to access the three ellipses (…) that are located in the lower left corner of the main screen of Opera. From here you will only have to select which are the accesses you want to have and that’s it.
