How to copy contacts from Android smartphone

To another Android smartphone or computer

Thanks to the proprietary Google application, you can copy all or selected contacts to other devices via Gmail, Telegram, and so on. This method is most suitable for transferring data between devices that you do not want to link with a common account.

  1. On the source smartphone, launch the Contacts app.
  2. Specify the ones you need with a long tap or select “Select All” from the menu.
  3. Click the Share button, then choose Gmail, Telegram , or your preferred method and send copies of your contacts.

Once exported, the data as a VCF file will be attached to the sent message. The recipient can save this document on a computer or smartphone. To add the entries stored in the file to the address book of another Android device or PC, just open the received VCF document and select “Save”.

From Android smartphone to SIM card or vice versa

You will most likely find the options for importing from a SIM card and exporting to it in the contacts application preinstalled on your device. If not, then use the Contacts program from Google. Select “Export” in its settings to copy data to a SIM card or “Import” – to transfer from a card to a phone, then follow the prompts on the screen.
