HOW TO CLEAN LACQUERED AND SHINY FURNITURE

Lacquered furniture, especially in glossy white, is usually the most popular because it provides a lot of light and creates spacious, modern and welcoming environments. However, they have a small problem: they are very delicate against stains . But do not worry, today we explain how to clean lacquered furniture and make it shiny.

The key for your lacquered furniture to maintain its brightness and luminosity for longer, lies in doing daily maintenance, which is also very simple and does not need a wide array of cleaning accessories . Just wipe it with a slightly damp cloth and then dry it so that no stains are left with another clean, lint-free cloth.

Goodbye to fingerprints

If you have small children, surely there are plenty of fingerprints on your lacquered furniture. To remove them, wipe it with a damp cloth. And for a deeper clean, use a furniture polish or cream. If you do not like these products, you can also use other types of household cleaners , such as ammonia, so that your lacquered furniture is impeccable.

Alcohol for ink

And if your children are enthusiastic about markers and have stained that table that you like so much, stay calm because you will see that with a cloth soaked in alcohol the stain will be easily erased.

Will shine again

If you have lacquered furniture at home, you may have noticed that even if you put a lot of care in its maintenance, it is inevitable that the shine will fade over the years. Of course, with the following tricks, your furniture will recover all its splendor in a short time:

  • Wipe them occasionally with a cloth soaked in liquid glycerin and, once it has been absorbed, wipe with a dry cloth.
  • You can also restore shine by applying the following mixture: essence of turpentine and linseed oil. Spread it with a cloth on the furniture. Then rub with a dry chamois.

And cleaning lacquered kitchen furniture?

Lacquered furniture is especially in demand when it comes to decorating a kitchen, due to its delicate finish and because it fits into any type of style. However, also in this case we find the fact that it is necessary to be more careful than with other finishes, such as melamine or formica, because they scratch easily and the shine is lost quickly if excessively abrasive products are abused.

To prevent this from happening and you can boast of a catalog kitchen, you must:

  • Avoid getting excessively dirty: for this it is advisable that once a week or every fortnight you review the fronts of the cabinets.
  • Remove grease from kitchen cabinets:  immediately after staining to prevent it from drying out and embedding in wood.
  • Use very mild products, with neutral pH, for delicate surfaces
  • Use cloths that have some descaling capacity, such  as microfiber cloths that also drag dirt.
  • Another recommended product is  neutral soap , which is bought in bars, flakes or that you can even make at home by hand recycling used oil.

And now that you know how to clean kitchen furniture, do you know how to clean the hob correctly ?
