Activate double factor on Apple ID
Apple defines two-factor authentication as an additional layer of security for the Apple ID . It has been designed to ensure that only you can access your account , and that even if someone else has seen your password, they cannot enter, because you add an extra layer of protection to do so.
How does it work
Through trusted devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch . The moment you log into the device, you will need to enter your password and 6-digit verification code. And this every time you add a new device. When you are inside, you will no longer be asked.
Steps to follow
On iOS
- Settings> your username> Password and security
- Enable two-factor authentication> Continue
In the case of using a previous version, it is done from:
- Settings> iCloud
- Click on Apple ID> Password and security
- Enable two-factor authentication> Continue
Then, you will have to enter and verify a trusted phone number where you can receive verification codes when logging in and thus verify that only you access and not someone else even if they know your password.
On Mac
- Click on the apple icon> System Preferences
- Click on Apple ID> Password and security> Enable two-factor authentication
And this is how to activate the double factor in Apple ID . We recommend it 100% and it will take you a moment, so do not hesitate to do it.
