Here are the 5 Mall Brawl missions and how to complete them:

beat the stage

  • This is the main missionof the phase and it consists simply of completing it until reaching the end, in this case beating the boss of the world (below you will have tips to defeat it). Beating it will automatically rescue 3 Waddle Dees.

Sneak between Gorillondo’s legs

This mission consists of passing between Gorillondo’s legs at some point during the boss fight. Doing so is risky as he can trample you, but if you’re nimble enough you’ll be able to get under his legs without taking damage. There are plenty of occasions to do it , so find your ideal moment.

Defeat Gorillondo with the Sword skill.

To complete this quest you have to defeat Gorillondo using only Kirby’s Sword ability . In the mall, just before the start of the fight, you will see several skills at your disposal in the corridor ; being one of them that of the Sword.

Make sure you pick up the Sword skill before you start the fight, and then use this power to fight Gorillondo. The difficulty here is that the sword’s melee attacks will force you to get very close to the boss, making it much more difficult to dodge his blows. Attack carefully and move as far away as you need to defeat him.

Expires in 2:00

To complete this mission you will have to defeat the Gorilondo boss in just 2 minutes or less . Time starts counting from the moment the fight starts, so you have to damage it as fast as possible .

Win without taking damage

The last mission of the phase asks you to defeat Gorillondo without taking any damage throughout the fight , meaning that the boss cannot hit you at any time (not even grab you with his hands, as this also counts as light damage, except of the initial hold that starts the match).

So that you can defeat him as easily as possible without losing any life, pay attention to the following tips :

  • You can try this mission using a skill:that allows you to attack from a distance (such as the Bombs) since from a distance it is easier to avoid their attacks; though the Sword skill is needed for another quest.
  • Gorillondo’s attacks are fairly easy to telegraph:so they can be predicted well in advance to dodge them in time.
  • Gorillondo can stomp the ground:when you are very close to it to create shockwaves that spread out from its center; you have to jump to avoid them (while you are in the air dodging take advantage to attack it).
  • Every time he stomps the ground:He does it in a series of three hits that ends with a big jump and a much bigger and more powerful shockwave.
  • If he jumps back:it’s because he’s going to start throwing stones at you from afar. Move to the sides to avoid them.
  • If you stay in front of him:close enough he will wave his arm to sweep the area, be ready to jump him. If you’re not fast he can grab you.
  • If he grabs you with his hands:Quickly shake the joystick in different directions to let go. If you don’t do it quickly, it will throw you to the ground and do a lot of damage.
  • When he has half his health left:Enrages and prepares to spin behind you at full speed. Once this happens, make sure to take a long distance since it is a movement that covers a large part of the stage.

These are Gorillondo ‘s attack patterns , which he will repeat throughout the fight. If you’re having a hard time beating him without taking damage, come back later when you’ve upgraded your skills and you’ll do more damage right away.
