Explain the proverb “ the apparel oft proclaims the man”.

These words are from “ Hamlet.” They were spoken by Polonius when giving advice to his son Laertes.
They mean that a person often shows by his manner of dress what his tastes and inclinations are, and in this
way the clothes show the type of man the wearer is.
