Why are different forms of dress used in different climates ?

The chief use of clothing is to help to keep the temperature of the body uniform. In cold climates we aim
at preventing the loss of heat from the body by radiation, and in hot climates clothing is used as a shield and
protection against the intense heat of the sun. The material which serves this double purpose admirably is
wool. It is a bad absorb er and a bad radiator of heat.
