Preparation of the remote control.

  1. Open the battery cover.
  2. Insert 2 “AAA” batteries making sure to match the polarity (+ and -) according to the markings inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery cover.
  4. Range: Approximately 7 meters from the remote control receiver.

Angle: Approximately 30 degrees to each of the remote control receiver.

If you are not going to use the remote control for a long time, remove the batteries from the compartment to prevent them from spilling.

Coaxial connector: To connect to an amplifier through a coaxial cable (optional).

S Video connector: to connect a television via an S Video cable (optional.)

Video connectors: To connect to the TV via the video cable (included.)

Component output connectors: For connecting to a television or monitor with component video input. The component video output outputs the separate color signals (Cb / Cr) as well as the luminescence signals (Y), to enable high-fidelity color reproduction. (Note: Place the connectors to the terminals of the same color.)

Stereo connectors: To connect the audio output to a TV using an audio cable (included)

 

DVD player system description

Setup menu

This menu is used to choose the playback languages, subtitles, OSD information and menus for the DVD disc. You must configure these options before playback.

When playback starts, the machine automatically selects the default language for the disc, if the player has that language.

To access this menu, press the SETUP button on the remote control, during playback or while playback is stopped.

  • Use the buttons with the up, down, left and right arrows to change the selection.
  • Press the ENTER button to confirm the settings.
  • Press the buttons with the up or down arrows to select the item you want.
  • After making the adjustments, press the SETUP button to exit the menu.

Description of the configuration menus.

  1. SYSTERM SETUP(System Settings)

The structure of the system configuration menu is as follows:

TV SYSTEM

Choose the color system that corresponds to the TV to which you will connect the player.

  • For multi-system televisions choose “Auto” option.
  • For NTSC televisions choose the “NTSC” option.
  • For PAL televisions choose the “PAL” option.
  • The default system is “NTSC”.
  1. SCREEN SAVER(Screen Saver)

This menu activates the screen saver. When the player is paused, the disc tray is open and it does not contain a disc, or if an image is frozen for more than 60 seconds, the screen saver will start. The protector helps prevent screen damage.

  • Choose “On” to activate the screen saver.
  • Choose “Off” to disable the screen saver.
  • Initially, the protector is activated.

III. Image format.

Image format

  • 16: 9 (wide screen): Choose this option if you are using a wide screen TV.
  • 4: 3 LB (letter box): Choose this option for normal-size televisions. When playing wide-screen movies, black stripes appear at the top and bottom of the screen.
  • 4: 3 PS (full scene scan): This option adapts the image to the size of the television. When playing wide-screen movies, the edges of the image may be cut off to show the image on the entire screen.
  • The initial value is 4: 3 PS (full screen).

Note: The player gives preference to the original frame size in DVD recording. Some discs may not play properly in a format you choose.

During 4: 3 disc playback, the aspect ratio cannot be changed.

The aspect ratio depends on the type of television you are using.

  1. PASSWORD(password)

Initially the equipment is locked, so you cannot adjust the “RATING” rating or change the password. To make these adjustments use the numeric buttons and enter the original password: 8888. Then press the SELECT button to confirm. If you want to change the password, first enter the original password and then the new one. The password must be 4 digits.

  1. RATING(classification)

When playing discs with locking systems, you should choose the rating level you want.

  1. The age rating control is not safe for children and adults.
  2. To cancel the rating locks choose “View All”.

The initial classification is “View All”.

Note: Password protection must be disabled to choose a rating and must be enabled for the rating lock to work.

SAW. DEFAULT (default)

Selecting this item will return all settings to the initial factory state.

Language setting

  1. Audio Language(audio language)

Use the directional buttons to choose the item you want from the “Audio language” menu and press the ENTER button to confirm. This unit supports 8 languages: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Thai, Others.

  1. SUBTITLE LANGUAGE(subtitle language)

Use the directional buttons to choose the item you want from the “Subtitle language” menu and press the ENTER button to confirm. This unit supports 8 languages: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Thai, Others.

Note: The default subtitle language is English.

Basic operations

The following icons are displayed with the OSD information during playback:

  1. Playback Menu (Available for DVD, Super VCD and VCD 2.0 discs)

By pressing the menu button:

  • If you are playing a DVD disc, the main menu of the DVD disc will be displayed on the screen.
  • If you are playing a VCD or VCD 2.0 disc (with PBC turned off), the disc’s main menu will be displayed on the screen. Press this button to view the current PBC information.

If you are playing super VCD or VCD 2.0 discs, the unit will activate PBC.

  1. During DVD playback, use the directional buttons to highlight the menu item you want, or use the number buttons to choose a menu item and play it directly, if you are playing VCD or VCD 2.0 discs.

III. Press the ENTER or PLAY button to start playback at the selected point.

  1. To return to the menu during playback, press the MENU (PBC) button if you are playing a DVD disc, or the MENU (PBC) or RETURN button if you are playing VCD or VCD 2.0 discs and the PBC is active.
  2. To stop playback:

SAW. Press the STOP button once to bring the unit into the “almost stopped” state. If you are playing with OSD, the indication “quasi – stop” will be displayed on the screen. Press the STOP button one more time to completely stop the unit.

VII. If the unit is in the “almost stopped” state, press the Play button to resume playback at the point where it stopped.

VIII. If the unit is completely stopped, press the Play button to start sequential playback.

To better preserve your discs, it is important that you press the Stop button and then OPEN / CLOSE to open the tray and finally remove the disc, press OPEN / CLOSE again to close the tray. If you are not going to use the player for a long time, unplug the power cord.

  1. TITLE PLAY (title playback for DVD only)
  • When you press the TITLE button, the titles on the disc will be displayed on the TV screen.
  • Use the directional buttons to highlight the title you want to play, or use the number buttons to choose them directly.
  • Playback will start at the first scene of the title you have selected.
  1. FREEZE FRAME (Freeze / Pause)

Press the PLAY / PAUSE button during playback to freeze the image

DVD / VCD

The image is frozen

CD

The sound is muted and playback is paused.

 

  1. FRAME ADVANCE (Frame-by-frame playback).

With playback paused, press this button to advance one frame at a time. Press the PLAY button to resume normal playback.

 

 

XII. Skip

Next

Press this button during playback to skip to the next scene (VCD / DVD) or track (CD).

 

Previous

Press this button during playback to skip to the previous scene (VCD / DVD) or track (CD).

 

XIII. PINTURE SCAN (Accelerated Playback)

  • Press this button during playback to activate at first speed, fast forward playback mode.
  • Press this button again to increase the speed consecutively.
  • Press the PLAY button to resume normal playback.

 

  • Press this button during playback to activate at the first speed of reverse accelerated playback mode.
  • Press this button again to increase the speed consecutively.
  • Press the PLAY button to resume normal playback.

XIV. SLOW MOTION PLAYBACK

Press the SLOW button during playback to activate slow motion. Each time you press this button the slow motion speed will decrease. For example, the first time you press, the playback speed will be ½ of normal, the second time ¼, etc.

 

 

Advanced operation

  1. LAST PLAYBACK:This function allows you to store in memory the last played moment of the DVD disc. The next time you play the same record, you can continue playing from the point where you stopped it. Press the STOP button during playback and then the Play button.
  2. MUTE:This button allows you to mute or reset the audio output while playing any disc.

Press the mute button during playback so that the sound output is canceled.

Press this button again to reset the audio output.

III. ANGLE: Some DVD discs include multiple angles from one shot. This player supports the angle change function.

Press the ANGLE button during playback.

A symbol will appear on the screen. To change angle press this button repeatedly.

Note: This feature is not available for DVD discs that have not been recorded on the multi-angle system.

  1. REPEAT

Use this button to repeat a scene or a title.

Press the REPEAT button during playback. The following symbols will be displayed on the TV screen. The REPEAT button is used to repeat a scene, a title or a track.

DVD

Press the REPEAT button once during playback to repeat the current scene.

 

Press the REPEAT button twice during playback to make the entire disc repeat.

 

Press the REPEAT button three times to cancel repeats.

 

 

  1. VCD / CD

 

Press the REPEAT button once during playback to make the current track repeat.

 

Press the REPEAT button twice during playback to make the entire disc repeat.

 

 

SAW. DISC OF IMAGES

 

  • Press the REPEAT button once during playback to repeat the current image.

 

  • Press the REPEAT button twice during playback to make the entire disc repeat.

 

  • Press the REPEAT button three times to cancel repeats.

 

 

VII. AB REPEAT

AB repeat mode allows you to repeat a specific segment defined by you.

Press the AB button to define the starting point (A) of the segment,

 

When you have reached the end point of the segment you want to play, press the AB button to mark the end point (B) of the segment to be repeated.

 

The segment you have defined will repeat continuously. To deactivate AB repeat, press the button again.

 

 

VIII. ZOOM (Zoom): This function allows you to enlarge the image two to four times.

During playback or while the image is frozen, press the ZOOM button to enlarge the image.

Use the directional buttons to choose the area you want to enlarge.

Press the ZOOM button again to cancel the zoom.

PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK (Applicable to DVD, super VCD, VCD, CD, HD-CD, WMA and JPEG discs). Use the programming function to assign a playback order to a maximum of 16 tracks.

Super VCD, VCD, CD, HD-CD discs: If the player is with the PBC activated, it will be deactivated when entering the programming. Enter the numbers shown in the highlighted items, and then press the PLAY button to program them, or move to the “PLAY” position, and then press the ENTER button.

You can program up to 16 titles or tracks.

Use the directional buttons to highlight the item you want to select, as indicated in the menu selection section.

Once you have pressed the Play button to play the programming, press the PROGRAM button once to view the contents of the programmed sequence or cancel the programming, you can also press the STOP button and then the PLAY button to start sequential playback.

Note: If you want to delete the programming, select the item ¨CLEAR¨ and press the ENTER button.

If you want to review the playback sequence, use the directional buttons to highlight the project you want to review and press the corresponding number button.

Using the DVD menu

Many DVD discs contain menus other than the DVD setup menu. The DVD menu may only contain a list of titles and scenes, or it may allow you to change the language and other specific information. The content of a DVD menu varies according to the disc. The following explanation will give you a general idea about the basic operation of these menus.

Press the MENU button during playback to activate the DVD menu.

Use the directional or numeric buttons to choose the item you want.

Problem solving

IMAGE

There is no image:

Make sure the equipment is connected correctly.

Connect the video cable to the appropriate terminals.

Set the TV’s video input mode to the correct one so that the signal from the DVD can be seen.

The image is distorted:

The disc is dirty and needs to be cleaned.

It is normal to see some distortion during accelerated playback.

The image does not enter the screen:

Change the “TV SCREEN” setting in the DVD setup menu to the ratio that corresponds to your TV.

SOUND

There is no sound:

Check the connections.

Check the volume level on the computer to which you have connected the player. Firmly connect the audio cable to the appropriate terminals.

Verify that the input settings on the TV or stereo component are correct.

There are no stereo sound effects during VCD or CD playback: Check the connections.

Press the STEREO button to choose the stereo sound output.

The remote control does not work properly.

The DVD player does not start playback:

You have not loaded a disc (the indication “No disc” will appear on the screen). Put on a disk.

The disc has been placed upside down. Load the disc with the recorded side down.

The disc is dirty. Clean the disc.
