A chromotropic trap is a type of trap in which a certain color is used as the primary or secondary means of attraction.
They are widely used in insect traps, both for mass capture and for monitoring populations. For example, the olive fly and many other insects that can be a pest in both agriculture and forestry .
Trap in the form of a tray in which there is a liquid in which the insects drown when falling. In this trap the yellow color is used as a chromotropic attractant.

The main colors used in agriculture are yellow to attract aphids and diphthres and blue to attract thrips.
