7 Examples of Sustainable Projects

Through these examples of sustainable projects , we will be able to explore what qualities they have to be called in such a way, and how we can create one ourselves.

Sustainable projects are called like this, because they allow them to last over time through minimal spending on expenses, and having a high income in comparison.

What are sustainable projects

Sometimes nicknamed “Green Projects”, as we well established, the sustainable project is capable of maintaining itself in the long run, generating the least amount of expenses.

However, this is just the tip of the iceberg, since a sustainable project also has many other characteristics.

For example, one of the main characteristics of sustainable projects is the fact that they make conscious use of nature’s resources.

This is done with the premise that, by wisely using natural resources, it is possible to face a healthier future.

7 Examples of sustainable projects

Next, we will see some of the most viable options to carry out our sustainable projects, and become much friendlier with the planet.

1. Non-biodegradable / Inorganic waste

There are many ways to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, and reducing or recycling inorganic waste is one of the main ways to do it effectively.

Based on the three R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), we have that we can make use of non-organic waste to create good things.

An excellent example of this is the creation of eco-blocks , also called eco-bricks or eco-bottles .

The creation of these consists of filling plastic bottles (like the ones we use for soda) with non-biodegradable waste , such as packaging, used paper, plastic bags, among others.

All this is well compressed inside the bottle, so that it is totally hard, and it is closed with its respective lid.

The eco-blocks can contain about 200 plastic packages, and are used for the construction of buildings.

2. Organic / biodegradable waste

We could easily see one of the uses that non-organic garbage has, but it is also proper to consider the utility that biodegradable garbage can have as well.

In this case, we are referring to organic waste, such as vegetable peelings or fallen leaves from trees, for example.

Learning how to recycle organic waste is extremely simple, since one of the best examples of recycling par excellence has always been the creation of compost.

The compost is created through different organic waste, such as fruit and vegetable peels, soil, coffee , etc. It is used in our plants to help them grow.

3. Solar energy

One of the best ways to make a place ecologically sustainable is to use solar energy panels to supply electricity to the establishment.

These solar panels generate a type of electricity that is clean and renewable in nature, causing less damage to the planet and consuming less energy.

4. Wind farms

One of the most common types of sustainable projects are wind farms, which generate energy through the force of the air itself, managing to produce electricity.

Wind farms as sustainable projects are highly recommended by experts in the field, as are solar power plants.

This is because both are means that allow the production of clean and renewable energy, friendly to the planet.

5. Organic farming

There are two types of agriculture , but in this case we are going to expressly refer to organic farming , based on the use of organic products for plant care.

It consists of avoiding the use of artificial fertilizers or any chemical product that may affect the food of the crop.

6. Sustainable fashion (Clothing)

More and more clothing brands are joining sustainable fashion, thanks to the fact that it is not only eco-friendly , but also generates minimal expenses.

The fact of reducing a company’s expenses is always a favorable factor for any brand, and even better if that allows its organic growth as well.

That is precisely the case of sustainable fashion, which can be achieved through different ways, from the type of fabric used to make it, to other specific hacks.

7. Electric vehicles

This is one of the best alternatives available in relation to the reduction of toxic products for the environment, such as fuel for cars, for example.

Electric vehicles do not require the use of gasoline, so the use of this toxic and flammable substance in them is reduced to zero.

This is an excellent technique, especially if the electricity obtained is from a renewable energy source, such as solar.
