8 Examples of Sustainable Products

It is vital for humanity and for the planet that we begin to be more aware, and these 8 examples of sustainable products will help us start a more eco-friendly path.

Sustainable products are those that generate a positive impact on the environment, such as recycled , ecological and organic products that we will see below.

Examples of sustainable products

Many beauty products, for example, are created with organic bases, for the health care of those who use them. This is one of the examples of organic products .

Most of these products, coming from sustainable projects , are already used in our daily lives without our knowing it consciously.

1. Organic makeup

Most cosmetic products use various chemical compounds derived from petroleum in their composition formula, which can be harmful to the user’s health.

However, there are makeup lines that have chosen to stop using this type of substance and begin to change the formula of their products.

This is how the existence of organic makeup comes about, which avoids at all costs the use of non-organic products that may be harmful to health.

2. Eco-blocks

Eco-blocks, also known as eco-bricks or eco-bottles in various parts of the world, are an ecological resource that results from recycling paper, plastic and other non-biodegradable products.

They are created with the use of a large plastic bottle, like the ones that bring soft drinks, for example. This bottle will be the base of our eco-block, and we must clean and dry it.

Subsequently, we are going to proceed to fill the bottle with non-biodegradable waste, such as wrappers, snack packages, empty blister packs, sheets of paper already used on both sides, etc.

Everything that we will use for the filling must also be cleaned and dried correctly, to avoid attracting vermin or the creation of fungi .

All the content must be progressively pushed in with the help of a long and firm stick, to make it compress well.

The final result should give us a bottle completely filled with this garbage, and that is hard and firm. Finally, we close it with its lid.

They can be created as a family, within our homes, being one of the easiest sustainable activities, each one being able to contain a month’s worth of garbage at home.

3. Organic cleaning products

Many companies are choosing to make products based on organic compounds, in the same way that they do with many cleaning products.

The vast majority of traditional cleaning products make use of chemical compounds that are harmful to the environment.

It is propitious to remember that after having used and disposed of them, these products culminate in rivers and seas, which is a highly negative fact for these bodies of water.

Ecological cleaning products , on the other hand, are carefully created so that they do not harm the planet, many of them being biodegradable.

4. Menstrual cup

The menstrual cup is an alternative to the use of sanitary napkins, thus reducing the amount of non-biodegradable products that are constantly discarded.

An average woman uses about 12 – 24 sanitary pads during a common menstrual cycle, which annually can be 144 – 288 for each person.

With the use of the menstrual cup , this factor is completely eliminated, since the use of sanitary towels or tampons is not required, nor any other disposable product.

The cup can be used for an average of 12 years and the purchase of a new one is not required during all this time.

5. Organic food

Sustainable products can also be organic foods , which happen to be all those that are truly organic.

Clear examples of organic food are vegetables grown through organic farming, meat, cheese and wine.

6. Fabric bags

Some sustainable actions can be very helpful in caring for our planet, such as carrying cloth bags to the supermarket.

In this case, this is an ideal alternative to not having to use paper or plastic bags, which can be easily disposable after use.

7. Bamboo toilet paper

Recently, an American brand called Bippy has been developing a type of toilet paper made from bamboo.

This is an ecological alternative to traditional paper, since Bippy paper turns out to be easily biodegradable, benefiting the environment.

8. Bamboo bikes

In the same thread of products made of bamboo , we also have bamboo bicycles, designed since 2012 by Bamboo Bicycle Club .

These bicycles are a sustainable product, friendly to the environment, and that can be biodegradable in case of discarding the use of it.
