4 simple tricks for how to do to become braver

Fear is not imagination. Fear is a real concept. Fear must be taken seriously and respected – but fear must not prevail and limit you unnecessarily. There are some simple things you can do to get better at challenging your fears.

1. Put words to your fears
What are you afraid of? Why? Is there a reason for your fear? What is the worst thing that can happen if you do something that you are afraid of?

2. Confront Your Fear
Do more of what you do not think you can do. Take small steps at a time. Fear is not something you defeat overnight. Can you ask for help to do what you are afraid of? Take a course? Educate yourself?

Accept that you have not decided in hand
Tell yourself that it is completely natural not to know what is going to happen and how to feel in advance when you do things that you find unpleasant. Accept that everything that is new and unusual may feel a little scary. Man is an addicted animal. As soon as we step outside our routines, our courage falters a bit. Appreciate the excitement and close your eyes to the fear.

4. Allow yourself to be vulnerable
Admit to yourself that you may feel scared, lost and vulnerable. Just staying away from everything that feels difficult and frightening limits us and our development as individuals. Accept that you feel afraid, but do things anyway and that it is only natural to doubt and waver in self-belief.
