Anxiety is a cognitive symptom of experiencing anxiety. Anxiety , on a moderate level, can be helpful, motivate a person to take something serious, solve a problem, consider the implications of his or her actions, or seek reassurance.

But sometimes a person can get stuck in a worrying state. The following strategies will hopefully help you achieve some of these goals.

Make a plan

One thing that people often worry about is unforeseen circumstances. Sometimes things happen in our lives that are beyond our control, such as being hired for a job. One way to deal with such situations is to make plans for different possible outcomes. Make a plan as detailed as you need to determine your course of affairs if you are doing the job or not getting it, which will hopefully take away from the worry.

Repeat to help reduce anxiety

People also often worry about performances and presentations in front of peers. For school, jobs, and our social lives, we have to give regular presentations, talk in public, or talk to friends about something difficult. One way to reduce worry in these situations is to repeat exactly what you are going to say and do as many times as you need to feel comfortable.

When our bodies are in optimal health, we have more mental resources available to deal with stress , solve problems, and control our anxiety. Achieve optimal physical health by eating a healthier diet, sleeping more, and being more physically active. It can have dramatic effects on your mood and your ability to cope.

Sometimes a person worries about things that are a distraction from the things that really bother him or her. For example, worrying about an outfit to wear the next day, which gives a distraction to worrying about what really bothers them, like a quarrel with a loved one. Finding the right source of your anxiety and worry can help you recover from the situation and take steps to improve what really bothers you.
