Windows 10 God Mode: what it is and how to activate it

Surely you have heard about the “God Mode” in video games, that option that allows you to have unlimited lives and all weapons or powers charged to the maximum to be completely invincible. Well, Microsoft’s operating system, Windows 10, has a God Mode also known as God Mode. This mode is something of a hidden option that allows you to access most of the Control Panel applets and commands, so it would be something like a “Windows Master Control Panel”.

It is not that this mode has settings that you cannot access by other means, but that it is actually a panel that includes all the settings available at a click, so you will save a lot of time in finding a setting by not having to navigate through the different windows of the control panel.

It is possible that that of Windows God Mode sounds like a user or advanced knowledge of the system, but nothing is further from the truth. Keep reading because in the following lines we are going to explain how to activate it, what it is for and how you can get the most out of this hidden option.

How to set God Mode in Windows 10

First make sure that you have started on your computer and that it has Windows 10 updated. It is also necessary that your account has administrator privileges, since if it is a guest account you will not be able to access. To make sure that your account has these privileges, go to Settings – Accounts and “Your information”. Here it should appear that your account is designated as Administrator.

If you do not have an administrator account, you can modify your privileges. To do this, go from the account that does have privileges to  Start   > Settings   >  Accounts and in  Family and other users select the name of the account owner. Now click on Change account type and in account type choose Administrator and click OK . Now you just have to log in. Log in with the new administrator account.

When you have checked these previous settings, we go to the key step which is to invoke this God Mode that we are talking about so much.

  1. Right click on your Windows 10 desktop and choose  New  – Folder
  2. Name the folder you just created with this name: GodMode. {ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} and  hit  enter for it to apply.
  3. You will see that the folder icon changes and upon access you will see hundreds of available configuration options .

Disable God Mode

As we said a few lines above, this mode is an excellent shortcut to reach common settings that ordinary users use on a day-to-day basis, but at the same time it is an open door for us to change settings that we do not know and whose changes They can be irreversible, as would be the case if we touch network or even security settings, since we would be exposing our team to threats and risks.

In this sense, the best advice we can give you is that if you use God Mode , use it with caution and caution . Also, it is advisable that you perform a backup and restore point before modifying any sensitive options such as Firewall or user accounts.

Another option is that once you have modified the settings that interest you, do not keep the access folder on your computer to avoid changes by mistake.

To deactivate the God Mode the procedure is as simple as sending the folder to the trash and deleting it forever. To do this, go to the path where you have the folder you created initially and click on it with the right button. Scroll through the available options and hit “Delete.” Finally, go to your trash and delete the file forever to avoid restoring it by mistake.
