Why is it better to sleep naked?

When it’s hot, sleeping naked is natural. Now a British survey reveals which clothes worsen the quality of sleep. To sleep well, it is best to avoid pajamas and nightgowns: science says so.

It’s hot, right? Can’t you rest well? So try sleeping completely naked. Of course, you say, with the high temperatures that there are especially in the city it is practically a forced choice, unless you turn the air conditioning to full throttle (see special heat and air conditioning) which then, very well, it does not. But now science comes to our aid, advising us to go to bed unclothed precisely because sleep is profitable.

ALL IN BED WITHOUT VEILS. An English survey commissioned by thedozyowl.co.uk has in fact assessed how much clothing can affect the quality of sleep, monitoring 2,689 volunteers dressed in various ways for a month. The parameter used to draw up the ranking was the amount of time spent in the REM phase , the one in which one dreams, considered a good indicator of the overall quality of sleep.

The results accurately indicate that the best way to sleep is therefore naked (and maybe, if you have a partner, who knows if sex is better too). In fact, those who abandon themselves to Morpheus without clothes spend, on average, 26.5% of their sleep in REM sleep. Followed by: shorts and short-sleeved T-shirt (26%), only underpants or boxers (25.5%), and underpants or boxers with long-sleeved shirts (25%).

HOW TO DO IT IN WINTER? Stay away from pajamas, The short-sleeved nightgown (23.5%) beats the long-sleeved one (20%). While pajamas with long pants are at the bottom of the ranking: the wearer spends just 17.5% of their sleep in REM sleep. So what in winter? The research also applies to the cold seasons. So see for yourself how to organize yourself when the cold returns. Blankets and duvets … if you can.
