Before you start looking for the smallest Replicating Nier hero, you will need the royal compass. This item is required to successfully activate this mission and allows you to enter the Sandstorm without the help of Fyra.

Where to find the smallest hero in Nier Replicant
Once you have the Royal Compass in your hands, head to the desert and find the NPC near the entrance to the part of the area covered by the sandstorm. Once you speak to him, he will race through the sandstorm to reach the wolf den he discovered.
Follow him through the storm and fight the spawning wolves. Then you will lose sight of it and have to search for the wolf’s lair yourself. To do this, go to the alcove with stairs that is located right in the center to the right of the center of the sandstorm area. Eventually you will come across a door that leads to the study.
Enter the lair and after a short cutscene you will be told to keep the smallest hero alive while killing all the wolves. The best way to do this is to use Weiss’s Magic Return Blasts as they will knock down wolves hit while dealing decent damage.
Once you have defeated all the wolves in the area, you will automatically be taken back to the quest giver, signaling the end of the smaller hero quest.
