When is pineapple season?
The truth is that fruits such as avocado , mango , custard apple and pineapple have long ceased to be exotic. Did you know that some of these varieties are produced in Spain (specifically, in the Tropical Coast of Granada ) and, therefore, also have an “ideal season”? In this case, the national pineapple season corresponds to the winter season ; although, as with all fruits, depending on the weather conditions, this period can be advanced, as has happened this year.
When the national pineapple season is over, you can also continue enjoying this delicious fruit. How? Very easy, consuming pineapple from Costa Rica and brought by plane . It will be at your table in two days (compared to the average 3 weeks that the normal ones that come by boat take), so the ripening point will be adequate to enjoy all its flavor and properties.
Pineapple: what properties does it have?
We know that fruits and vegetables are, in general, good (and necessary) for our health, but when it comes to knowing the specific properties of a fruit, things change. In the case of pineapple, the most common searches we usually do on the Internet (wonderful invention, this one!) Are “pineapple for the kidneys,” “pineapple for gastritis,” “pineapple for the colon,” “pineapple for the diarrhea ”… If you are one of those who have ever sought this, I recommend that you take a look at the health benefits of pineapple .
Pineapple: how to prepare it?
- Pineapple, monkfish and shrimp salad
- Tropical fruit and prawn cocktail
- Pineapple carpaccio with mango ice cream
- Pineapple Strudel
- Puff pastry with fruits
- Pineapple and mango compote
- Pineapple juice or Pear and pineapple juice
It is recommended that before splitting it leave it face down (with the leaves at the bottom) so that the sugar is distributed throughout the fruit and the sweetness is uniform. Also, keep in mind that it is necessary to consume it as soon as it is opened so that it does not turn black and … remember !: under no circumstances keep it in the fridge.
