Not so long ago, there was a new update for The Elder Scrolls Online , which brought big changes to the game. We will talk about the most important ones in this article.
New class – necromancer
This powerful class allows you to summon undead and use the forces of darkness. He has 3 skill lines:
- Grave Lordis responsible for dealing maximum damage per second. The character summons frost giants, burning skeletons and uses other offensive spells.
- Bone Tyrantis a tank that creates impenetrable barriers using corpses.
- Living Deathallows you to heal yourself and your comrades, and even resurrect fallen allies.
The main thing – keep in mind that in this game a necromancer can summon up to 1 minion, so you can immediately forget about the crowds of skeletons in the style of Diablo 2. By the way, since necromancy in Tamriel is considered a criminal act, any spell of this school offends local residents and attracts the attention of guards …
Legendary weapon
The game has a legendary weapon: at the moment, the developers have added only the Volendrang hammer, but in the future they will introduce other famous artfecats from the TES universe. The famous hammer spawns randomly in different places in Cyrodiil: it can be used by any game lucky enough to find the Wonder Sledgehammer first. But you should know that Volendrang gradually depletes the life of the hero, so you need to earn special points to avoid this problem: for this you will have to actively fight in PvP and capture territories.
Campaign changes in Cyrodiil
All campaigns released before the launch of Elsweyr have been closed and replaced with brand new ones. In accordance with the Season of the Dragon, Zenimax introduced 6 campaigns with special additional rules, which were named after the dragons, and are as follows:
- Bahlokdaan:duration 30 days, Champion Points off, Alliance locked;
- Kaalgrontiid:duration 30 days, Champion Points enabled, Alliance locked;
- Yolnahkriin:duration 7 days, Champion Points included;
- Mulaamnir:Levels 10-49;
- Imperial City:Champion Points are off;
- Imperial City:Champion Points included.
In campaigns where the alliance is blocked, each user can only represent one side until the end of the entire campaign: in other words, it is no longer possible to change factions if the player does not like the situation on the battlefield.
The Imperial CIty adventure with the release of the update has become a separate campaign: now the doors in Cyrodiil are closed and no longer work, and you can get there only through the campaign selection menu. The hero finds himself in the sewers, just as before, when crossing from Cyrodiil, but the location itself no longer belongs to this region of the world.
Previously, in order to join another campaign, it was necessary to assign a guest campaign, but in the last update this problem was solved and now you can join absolutely any one.
The Emperor leaderboards have also been adjusted. After the player was the Emperor in the campaign, he can no longer be in another Alliance until the end of the current adventure.
Guild Finder
Guild leaders have the ability to transfer a guild to the Guild Finder. This is a new tool for finding like-minded people. Here you can enter information about your guild, add your own title and description. If ordinary players are looking for a guild, then they can access the Guild Finder in a special menu located at the bottom of the guild list. From there, you can send a request to join the desired guild, which will include basic information about the account and character. Guild members can view information about received requests and respond to them.
Skyshard Achievements for Alternate Characters
When one hero completes the Skyshard Hunter achievement in full, it will be possible to purchase this achievement for other characters in the Crown store. The acquired achievement will reward them with skill points – an important detail, since to quickly level up characters, not experience is needed, but first of all skill points. This simple level-up option costs money, but most players already have enough in-game currency from ESO Plus to spend on it.
Dragons
Of course, the Season of the Dragons could not do without dragons. The winged monsters appeared in the Sunspire Challenge: different types of these monsters differ from each other in unique abilities, but they all have one thing in common – the high level of danger they pose to players.
Other changes
- Removed 200ms delay for cooldowns during casting. This is to improve the experience of using abilities in quick succession.
- The heroes stricken with fear do not run in terror, now they remain in place and cannot move, writhing in terror.
- Once the effect of the immobilization abilities ends, the character gains immunity to subsequent immobilization for 3 seconds, similar to the Dodge Roll mechanic.
- Befouled: Maximum reduced from 55% to 35% to improve the balance between Healing Bonus and CP reduction.
- Decrease Health Enchant (Damage from oblivion): Reduced the damage from the spell by 33%.
- Dubious Cameron Throne & Witch Mother’s Brew: Reduced the maximum health and maximum stamina or magicka provided by these drinks by approximately 12%. The restorations remain unchanged.
- Removed the trap applied to all abilities related to character charges, jumping, teleportation, or other similar movements. Removed minimum ranges and greatly increased the speed of all of these abilities.
In general, the update changed the whole mechanics of the game for the better: guilds became more active, and players who do not spend time in TESO so often can now keep up with others. It’s just not entirely clear how beneficial the balance changes will be, but time will tell. Let’s hope that in future updates, the authors will continue the trend and add even more useful and interesting content.
