What is Electronic Music?

Electronica is a type of music produced with electric instruments such as synthesizers, electronic percussion and recorded music or sound samples. Electronica is a broad term that includes subgenres such as downtempo, intelligent dance music, electronic dance music, techno, house, drum and bass, trance among others. This music is mainly developed for concentrated dancing and listening purposes. With advances in music technology, electronics evolved into the popular genre in the late 20th century. The tools typically used in electronics include synthesizers, drum machines, sequencers, keyboards and samplers.

Electronics depend mainly on electrical equipment to produce sounds and effects to a piece of music. These functions associated with electronica include; use of wide ranges of frequencies, tones and tones, a time of 140 beats per minute, use of hats and cymbals, a kick & snare pattern, modulated bass lines, sound effects and a low drop for effects are added.

Electronica music began in the 1960s but was popularized in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Before its popularity, musicians experimented with various instruments that led to the creation of sounds that would later become popular genres. The most significant influence for the spread of this music was the Kraftwerk band from western Germany that introduced electronic sounds to a wider audience. The band worked with other bands like Deep Purple producing new sounds with the synth and the Moog vocoder. Soon other artists, including Giorgia Moroder and Daft Punk, followed the trend that led to the emergence and growth of disco music. In the 1970s, this music borrowed existing pop and rock genre structures. However,

The most important thing about Electronica is that it allowed artists to produce cheaper and more affordable songs and create orchestras without having to employ a large crew to handle the instruments. The availability of music production software eliminates the expense of having to buy expensive equipment to record songs.
