Sport sciences is aimed at further activities as an athlete or professional related to sports, for example, in the field of sports and recreational sports or high-performance sports and sports competitions, as well as, in some cases, in the field of scientific work.

Learning programs
The Sports major primarily includes the Health Sports (Gesundheitssport) and Sports Science (Sportwissenschaft) programs. Also, this specialty can be studied in the framework of pedagogical activity (Lehramt). In this case, as a rule, it is required to choose a second, scientific subject. Sports science programs include the theory and practice of various sports, as well as scientific foundations (training studies, sports medicine, biology, pedagogy) on the one hand, and economic subjects (marketing, accounting, organization and personnel management) and topics from the field of jurisprudence (sports law, tax law in sports), on the other.
