Types of Chemicals and Examples

Chemistry is essentially included in IPA (Natural Sciences) whose studies always have a correlation with physics or biology. So it is appropriate if this chemical has a broad scope, which includes all of nature and all that is contained in it. Either living or dead.

Nevertheless in general this chemistry is divided into 2 major branches, namely organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry which all have implementations in human life. One of them is chemicals that are needed by humans in their daily lives. That is why this article deals with various chemicals and examples.

Chemical material

Chemicals are a series of mixed / pure substances made from various chemical elements so they are believed to provide content or have potential hazards if used excessively, although they do not deny that these are formed to supply the needs of human life.

Types of Chemicals and Examples

Broadly speaking, various forms of chemicals that are easily found. Among others, namely;

  1. Poisonous
  2. Danger
  3. Explode
  4. Burnt out

To further review this, the following definition and symbolic examples of chemicals that have been mentioned.

Toxic Chemicals

Toxic or toxic chemicals refer to their ability to damage the organ system (kidney, liver) so that it interferes with biochemical processes (for example in this case the formation of blood) or disrupts the enzyme system in several locations far from the contact location.

It should be noted that toxicity is the nature of each chemical that is determined by the molecular structure. Any substance can be dangerous for living things. But, just as there are dangerous degrees, there are also safe degrees.

There is a complex relationship between biologically active chemicals and the effects they produce which involve consideration of dosage (amount of substance exposed to one), time (how often, and how long during a certain time, exposure occurs), route of exposure (inhalation, consumption, absorption through skin or eyes).

As well as many other factors such as gender, reproductive status, age, general health and nutrition, lifestyle factors, previous sensitivity, genetic disposition, and exposure to other chemicals.

Examples included in the types of toxic chemicals include;

  1. Benzene
  2. Ethanol
  3. Formalin

For this reason some time ago in Indonesia in particular the use of formalin preservatives with food which is certainly very disturbing to the community. This use is more specifically for salted fish, and so on.

Hazardous Chemicals

Hazardous chemicals are substances, mixtures, and items that can pose significant risks to health and safety if not managed properly. They may have health hazards, physical hazards or both.

Basically, hazardous chemicals include toxic chemicals, chemicals that cause skin damage, carcinogens, and various other chemicals that can cause adverse health effects.

Examples included in hazardous chemicals include;

  1. Mercury chloride
  2. Hydrogen sulfide
  3. Methanol
  4. Cyanide

Explosive Chemicals

Most explosives are explosive chemicals. Explosives usually have less potential energy than fuel, but their high energy release rate results in intense explosive pressure.

TNT has a detonation speed of 6,940 m / s compared to 1,680 m / s for the detonation of the pentane-air mixture, and a stoichiometric flame speed of 0.34-m / s from burning gasoline in the air.

As for examples of explosive chemicals, such as;

  1. Dynamite
  2. Dibenzoylperoxide

Combustible Chemicals

Flammable materials are those which are flammable or combustible at ambient temperatures. The degree of ease of a material burning is very dependent on the volatility of the material – this is related to the specific vapor pressure-composition, which is temperature dependent.

The quantity of steam produced can be increased by increasing the surface area of the material which forms fog or dust.

Examples classified as combustible chemicals include:

  1. White phosphorus
  2. Hydride
  3. Alcohol
  4. Sodium Metal

Indeed, even though what is contained in the material contains various potential dangers, but all of that is needed by humans. Both in the corporate environment, the production of goods, even chemicals are also very necessary to be found in the household . In essence, all these chemicals have a certain size to be used.

That was the explanation and comment that can be mentioned to the reader regarding the types of chemicals and examples. Hopefully it gives insight and deep meaning to all who are in need of their references. Thanks,
