Games in the post-apocalyptic setting have always been particularly popular. The State of Survival application for mobile devices was not left unattended either . In this game, users can fight hordes of ghouls, creating strong groups and troops, as well as liberate new lands and expand their colony. We have prepared a detailed guide for the development of your army, in which we will explain how to strengthen your troops, and analyze the characteristics of existing units.
General information on troops in State of Survival
At first glance, it might seem to you that State of Survival is a purely conquering game. This is understandable, since the main concept of the game is to clear buildings and locations around your settlement in order to liberate them and expand your colony using a group of heroes of your choice.
However, as soon as you leave your headquarters and go on reconnaissance in the Wasteland, you will soon realize that the game world is much larger than your settlement. Basically, you can also interact with other real players, fight hordes of zombies, collect resources, and more.
Unlike most MMOs, similar to State of Survival, the mechanics of the troops in this game are greatly simplified. On the one hand, we love to discuss military strategy with other members of the alliance. On the other hand, it is very difficult to strengthen and control troops, especially in cooperative mode.
There are three main types of units in State of Survival – infantrymen , hunters, and riders . Each of them on the territory of the settlement has its own building, in which you can improve and train units:
- Barracks– for infantrymen;
- Polygon– for hunters;
- The garageis for riders.
Each of them is more effective in battles with a certain type of enemies. This mechanic ensures that players aim for a balanced composition of their army, rather than using just one type of unit.
Foot soldiers
There are two types of infantry at all levels. The first type of infantry only uses melee weapons. They are perfect for battles with riders and a large group of zombies. The second type of troops is armed with rifles or shotguns, so they are best used against long-range enemies. By and large, you must maintain both the first and second type of infantry in order to effectively resist the onslaught of enemies. Infantrymen have the highest health and defense indicators of all unit types, but the lowest combat potential and mortality.
Riders
These units use vehicles to move and attack enemies. Just like the infantrymen, at each new level you can hire two types of fighters. Unlike the former, riders almost always use firearms, but the former use lighter weapons, and the latter, heavier cannons. However, we recommend that you do not give preference to a separate type of unit, as they will both come in handy for clearing your opponent’s front line. In terms of stats, the riders have average health and defense, as well as increased combat potential and mortality.
Hunters
Ranged units will be the backbone of any military force. As usual, depending on what type of troops you train, they can be effective against infantry or riders. If you manage to keep this type of troops on the battlefield long enough, they will kill anyone who gets in their way.
How to improve troops and increase the level of units in State of Survival
As we have already noted, each type of troops has its own building, in which you can train one or another combat unit. Be careful, as during the training of soldiers you cannot improve the building, so we recommend that you do this in advance.
To upgrade a building of any type of troops, select it and click “Upgrade”. To improve any of the existing buildings, you will need to fulfill some conditions:
- Improve the headquarters (the level of the headquarters must be equal to the level of the building being improved);
- Improve the base of heroes (the level of the base of heroes must be equal to the level of the building being upgraded);
- Spend a certain amount of foodand wood .
Each new level of the building for training units can not only open a new type of troops, but also increase the strength in battle , as well as the general welfare of the settlement.
The training of troops also requires the cost of food and wood. Depending on the type and level of the units being trained, you will also spend 15 to 60 minutes on training. You can speed up your workout in two ways:
- Use an accelerator. Accelerators of various rarity can reduce the training time for troops. Such items can be found in the Wasteland or received as a reward for completing quests. Do not forget to communicate with the inhabitants of your settlement, as for the correct answers in the dialogues you can receive such accelerators.
- Use biocapsules. Such items can be purchased in the game store by funding the game account.
Use the lab
Already at the sixth level of the headquarters, you can find a laboratory and attach it to your settlement. It is usually located in the lower right corner of the colony. But first you have to fix this building. To do this, go on reconnaissance in the Wasteland and search several laboratories. To get the last item ” Gauge “, you will have to fight with a crowd of ordinary and mutated ghouls. You should increase the level of heroes in your squad to improve the indicator of the strength of heroes .
It should be understood that without improving the laboratory, you will not be able to increase the level of your headquarters, so you will have to repair this building and improve it. In particular, to increase the combat strength of the army, you can conduct research in the ” Combat ” tab , the elements of which will become available starting from the third level of the laboratory .
For research, you will need to spend a certain amount of food and wood . Each improvement in this section will increase the combat power of your army, so do not neglect research.
Additional Tips for Upgrading Troops in State of Survival
Additional missions . At first, completing additional missions is a great opportunity to get a large number of different units into your army. Mostly, you need to upgrade buildings to the desired level (headquarters, farms, sawmills, etc.), train a certain number of infantry or improve the level of the chief.
Training camp . This building will help increase the training speed of any units and enhance their combat power. Go to the “Build” section, select the “Military” tab and place a training camp in any free spot in your settlement. You can build several similar buildings to increase the combat power of your troops.
Upgrade heroes . Each hero in your squad has their own strength points. With the increase in the level and rank of the heroes, the indicator of their strength will also increase. Remember that a strong hero will be much effective in battle, even if you have collected a good army.
Improve your boss’s talents . Go to the “Chief’s profile” (you can open it by clicking on the chief’s icon in the upper left corner of the screen) and select the “Talents” section. Upgrade talents in the “War” section to strengthen your army. To get free talent points, you need to level up your boss with the help of special “Chef Experience” tokens.
