FIX: Amazon full_biscuit appears on the net

For starters, the appearance of an unknown device in itself does not put your computer or network at risk or open to attack. However, if you want to get rid of a particular device from your home network, try the steps below.

How do I correct the Amazon Full_biscuit that appears on the web?

1. Check your Amazon Echo devices

  1. Several users have reported that disabling or shutting down the Amazon Echo device that is connected to their network has removed the full_biscuit device from the network.
  2. If you also have an Amazon Echo, turn off the device.
  3. Make sure to unplug the device from the electrical outlet as well.
  4. Restart the computer and check if the unknown device has disappeared from your network.
  5. Turn on your Amazon Echo device and then try to connect to the network.
  6. Recheck your home network to see if the unknown device shows up.
  7. If the network shows the same unknown device, try updating your Amazon Echo device to see if that fixes the problem.

Update Amazon Echo Device

  1. Alexa devices receive OTA software updates automatically.
  2. To install any pending updates, make sure the device is turned on and connected to your network.
  3. Make sure not to use the device when the update is in progress.
  4. Alexa will display a blue light ring when the update is ready to install. Therefore, wait until the updates are installed.
  5. Once the updates are installed, check your network for an unknown device.

2. Disable WiFi SSID broadcast

  1. Make sure your router is turned on and connected to your computer.
  2. Open the web browser and type the following IP address, and then hit enter:
    192.168.1.1
  3. Enter your administrator username and password to log in. If you have not changed the default password, enter admin and Password for username and password, respectively.
  4. Once you are logged in, open the Wireless tab .
  5. Locate the SSID broadcast option .
  6. Click the button option Off with SSID Broadcast to hide your SSID.
  7. Make sure the Configuration view is set to Manul before disabling SSID broadcast.
  8. Click Save Settings to apply the changes.

Note: The steps above are done on a Linksys router. Consult your router’s user manual if you are using a different router.
