To save on your weekly purchase , one of the basic guidelines is planning: before you go to the supermarket to buy everything you see, it is advisable to plan a weekly menu in which you include the main meals of the day, those that require further elaboration : meals and dinners. Gather your family and prepare a varied menu for each day of the week, so you can know exactly which ingredients you need to buy and which ones do not.

Make a shopping list

It is basic, but we usually ignore it trusting that we will not forget what we have to buy. To avoid misunderstandings and distractions in the aisles of the supermarket, write down on paper all the food you need based on the weekly menu that you have previously prepared.

Check before closets and pantry

Do not go down to buy without having checked beforehand what products are missing at home: Is there toilet paper in the bathroom? Do napkins remain? Are the tablets in the dishwasher already finished? Write everything down and buy it only if you need it. Sometimes we tend to ask these questions when we are already in the supermarket and we usually buy things that we already have at home.

Do not go down to buy on an empty stomach

Some supermarkets offer us discount coupons   applicable to certain products. Sometimes we do not usually take them into account and we throw them together with the purchase ticket, but they can come in handy because they allow us to save up to 20% on different products. Remember to fix them to the fridge with a magnet to have them in view and use them the next time you go down to buy.

Place the purchase in the background

Have you ever encountered a product that you did not remember having at home and you had to throw it away because it was expired? Sometimes, we tend to saturate the pantry or the fridge with cans, cans and food packages that end up hidden in the background and we completely forget that they exist. To avoid throwing food and waste money, put the new purchase in the background and move the old products to a more visible place, so we will consume them first.
