Satya Nadella , is an Indian- American engineer , computer scientist and business administrator . He began working as an engineer at the Sun Microsystems computer company and has been with Microsoft since 1992 , where he has held numerous positions. On February 4, 2014, the Microsoft Board of Directors elected him as the new CEO of Microsoft, replacing Steve Ballmer .
Biography
Born in the Indian city of Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh in 1967 , he studied primary and secondary school at the Hyderabad Public School in the Begumpet district. He then entered the University of Manipal , where he graduated in Computer Engineering. Later, he moved with his family to the United States , where he obtained a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Milwaukee and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicagoat the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. After completing his university studies, he began working as a technical engineer at the Sun Microsystems computer company . In 1992 , he joined Microsoft Corporation as Vice President of the Business Division and also of research and development (R&D) for the Online Services Division. Later he was President of the Servers and Tools Division and led the integration of Microsoft SQL Server for Windows Server 2012 , Microsoft Visual Studio for Windows Azure cloud computing. With what they achieved in 2013 revenues of more than 20 million dollars $. Prior to his appointment as CEO of the company, he was Vice President of the company Microsofty and Executive Vice President of the cloud computing group and is also responsible for the construction and operation of computer platforms , development tools and also computing in Cloud. Following the resignation of [[Steve Ballme] r], Nadella is the new CEO of Microsoft .
