It not only vacuums more, but scrubs better. And all this with the advantages of the emptying base, because it does everything for you, automating floor cleaning to the maximum .

First impressions
They say what counts is the first impresion. In the case of this new Roborock S7 MaxV, what I liked the most as soon as I saw it is its spectacular design . I’m going to be very heavy with this throughout the review, but it’s beautiful… Its matte black finish is amazing .
It is important that manufacturers take care of the aesthetics of their robot vacuum cleaners as Roborock does, because it is more than a vacuum cleaner, it is also a design piece that will be visible in the house and we want it to be beautiful. Outstanding without a doubt!
On the front we have mainly three buttons . The house sends it to the base, on/off to turn it on and off and the other button is to clean an area of the house without using the app). On the front we have a double lens, RGB camera, to recognize obstacles and not crash. On the other hand, we have three wheels, anti-fall sensors and brushes.
We also highlight its intelligent navigation system, through a laser sight and a camera. It incorporates Reactive AI 2.0, so it combines the RGB camera and a laser viewfinder to navigate, recognize objects and better orient yourself. In fact, one of the advantages of this new robot is that it recognizes what it sees and even recommends cleaning patterns .
If you do a test, you will see what his route has been on the map and the different obstacles he has detected. You will see that in this model the detection is perfect, without you having to edit practically anything on your own. This makes for very positive output impressions. In fact, I find important differences with other robots in this, because if it sees an obstacle it stops without touching it and changes course . Others ended up running over the poor object… However, keep in mind that it does not like cables very much, so it tries to avoid them being in the middle (as much as possible).
When vacuuming, you can also set one of the available power levels. That is, silent, normal, turbo and maximum mode. You can also choose the Turbo + , which is very powerful but it leaves the battery ko and makes a lot of noise. In any case, despite having several levels to choose from, the normal mode is for weekly cleanings . If there is a lot of dirt or you have carpets, the turbo is better. Plus, it’s such a smart robot vacuum that it will increase the suction level when it knows you need it. You can also ask him to dodge the rugs!
As for scrubbing, there are 3 options. Light , modern or heavy scrubbing . It makes a kind of vibration and it is not annoying, but it is key to remove the stains that are embedded in the floor, so that you do not have to go over later to review possible stains that may have remained. Of course, as you imagine, there are areas where it is impossible to reach. In addition, you can not put cleaning products on it either, but this also ensures that you do not use an unsuitable cleaning product and damage the floor.
We have also been surprised that it has a lower plastic base that is embedded. It’s convenient because it used to move around and this small cradle works well as an alternative if you don’t want to buy the charging cradle.
Another great point is that it has light . When you put it at night, it emits a great light as if it were a person with a flashlight. It is a detail that I love and that the first time made me quite funny.
Be careful, it should also be noted that it has a charging base and this means that it is not mandatory to buy the mopping one . So if you want to avoid the additional expense or prefer to wait until later, it is a possibility.
How to set up Roborock S7 MaxV on iPhone
- To start using it, first of all remove all plastic and cardboard.
- Put it on charge!
- While charging, download the Roborock app from the App Store. Sign in or create a new account to get started.
- Open the lid of the robot and you will see a blue light flashing , that means it is in listening mode . Then, from the app, on the + button, choose the robot model from the list. Select Wi-Fi.
- Now go to iPhone Settings and change WiFi network to roborock-vacuum. Then go back to the Roborock app and you will see that it starts to sync.
- Once it is with a little charge, you can send it to do a cleaning throughout the house. This way you will see the map and you will be amazed at how fast it is. It is super effective .
Settings within the app
In the following screenshots you can get an idea of everything you will see as soon as you configure your new robot vacuum cleaner. You see that it tells you if your house has several floors, if you have cats or dogs, if you want it to work in the least collision mode, etc. Simply adjust it to your needs.
It is also important to pay attention to adjustments and maintenance, so that everything is ready.
Positive points
- The black matte finish is beautiful: aesthetically it is the most beautiful robot they have released to date. The color is elegant, beautiful and leaves hardly any traces.
- Clean faster: being more efficient in all aspects (more power, better vacuum and smarter with obstacles), it is able to clean the house much faster, in less time.
- You can follow the vacuuming from the app: a feature that I really like is that in the app there is an icon with a camera that gives you access to the robot itself in real time, to see what it is doing. During this process, if you see that it puts a purple light on the LED and releases a warning phrase, it is because it warns that it could be recording you.
- Adjustable noise level and power: if you work at home and the noise of the vacuum cleaner bothers you, know that we have 4 modes to configure according to your needs. They are the quiet, normal, turbo and maximum power levels . Of course, keep in mind that they do not aspire the same, with the same potential, so you can regulate it according to your needs.
- The light is amazing: when I put the robot and there is little light, it begins to emit a halo of strong light as if it were a flashlight. It’s great because even if you’re in the dark you can see it coming and you don’t stumble.
- It can be squeezed thanks to the self-emptying bases: we have two options to choose from, one double and one triple. Below we talk about them in depth.
Bad points
- The new self-emptying base is amazing, but it is not the best option for small places: the base takes up a lot of space, with dimensions of 41 x 41 x 50 cm, which means that people who live in small flats do not want to give up to lose a corner to place it. Still, it’s worth it if you want to optimize your vacuuming/scrubbing and do the bare minimum.
- It does not reach all parts such as baseboards or corners: although the results of the vacuuming are incredible, it obviously cannot reach the corners. After all, even if you vacuum, you will see that over time dust accumulates there and you need additional manual cleaning. If you combine it is perfect.
- The price is high: we are facing a revolutionary technology and it is clear that this has to be paid. The price is expensive and may be a barrier for some users, but it is certainly a good investment and worth every euro.
Why renew your current robot vacuum cleaner for this one?
As new models come out, we see the shortcomings of the previous ones. If we compare the features and power offered by the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, we see that it is on another level. So if you want the most, you have to change it, because you will save time, money and everything will be cleaner .
What I like the most is the level of automation that the renewed robot allows, because it is all comforts . Thanks to the emptying base as a support, you will not have to do anything; have it vacuumed and that’s it.
Does it stay easy?
Yes. In the app you will see the maintenance tab, where the percentage of maintenance for the filter, the main brush, the side brush, the sensors and the mop is indicated . As soon as the percentage is low, you will have to proceed with the cleaning of each piece or change of the bag.
Cleaning the water tank is super easy. Once the entire house has been scrubbed, the robot empties the dirty water into the base and you just have to pick it up and pour it down the bathroom or down the sink. The mop is also easy to clean and of course you can periodically put it in the washing machine.
Roborock S7 MaxV Plus
We already know the Roborock S7 pack and the Plus self-emptying base from the previous generation. It stands out because it has two columns to empty the dust, one with a bag and the other without a bag .
It does not have a hole for water, so it was a pending issue that has been resolved in the new one.
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra
The new self-emptying charging dock is impressive and worth every penny it’s worth. It is very complete thanks to the fact that it has 3 columns:
- In the first column is the bag that accumulates the garbage from the deposit
- In the second there is a water tank that must be filled before washing
- The third tank is the dirty water tank.
What the robot does with the help of this base is to clean the mop before mopping the floor. It may not seem like it, but it is very comfortable and takes floor cleaning to another level.
The most surprising thing is the space it occupies. It is not very suitable for small spaces, but with how comfortable it is, it is worth making a hole for it at home.
As for the dust bags, bring one set and one spare. The average duration of each bag is about 7 weeks . You can buy the bags at around €2.50 – €3 per unit, so with €10-15 you will have enough for the whole year.
Is the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra Self-Emptying Base worth it?
Always! It may seem like a cost that we do not want to assume after having bought the robot vacuum cleaner, but the truth is that it is worth it because it takes the vacuuming experience to another level. It does it all for you . It takes up space but is convenient if you plan to vacuum and mop with the robot, without having to empty out the dust or dirty water.
Personally, it pays off and I find it to be an essential purchase, since my goal is to spend as little time as possible cleaning and for everything to be sparkling with minimal effort . If that is also your goal, you need this product pack.
My personal opinion
The new Roborock S7 MaxV has delighted me . It is a robot vacuum cleaner of 10 and the best I have tried to date . The manufacturer has managed to overcome itself once again and we couldn’t like the result more.
Vacuuming and mopping the floor are two tasks that are always lazy but manage to completely transform a home, making it always clean. Just by passing a cloth over the furniture and then putting the robot will have everything done. That easy!
