Puyo House . Heritage building in the neoclassical style , built to be the residence of the Puyó León family, located in the Barrio de Bellas Artes in downtown Santiago de Chile . It is one of the few residential works of the architect Emile Jéquier –author of the Mapocho Station–, and was the home until her death, of the painter Inés Puyó , one of the greatest representatives of the Generation of 28.
It is currently a public space that contains a wide variety of shops and services inside.

Location
Located at Monjitas Street No. 625, Miraflores corner, Santiago commune , Chile .
History
The Casona Puyó located in the sector that, at that time, was considered the periphery of the center of Santiago, was built between 1903 and 1910 by the famous architect Emilio Jequier, at the request of Dr. Luis Puyó Medina to be the residence of the family .
The doctor asked the architect to make six houses between 200 and 850 square meters. Two of the houses would be for his personal use, treated as a family residence and medical practice , and the other four would be intended to be rented to people known to the family.
After the death of the parents, the eldest daughters of the family (Inés and María Puyó) stayed in the residence until their deaths in 1996 and 1997 respectively.
Inés Puyó, being a great artist in life, was the main person responsible for the reputation acquired by the mansion, which was always linked to artists because it gave shelter and space for workshops to plastic artists and art galleries , and even the foundation of a radio .
After the death of both sisters, most of the movable property of the house was auctioned off in 1998 , including Luis Puyó’s medical desk, which for several decades remained intact in the house used as a consultation. The property passed into the hands of third parties, a congregation of nuns and a distant nephew of the family were the beneficiaries of the property and who sold it to a German real estate agency.
The mansion has housed a radio, galleries , plastic arts, engraving and sculpture workshops , it has been used as an Arab dance school , an institute for Japanese disciplines and a tea room, it has become a hairdresser ‘s , barber ‘s shop , a lingerie boutique and wardrobe, jewelry store , decoration and furniture , it also had an antique store, a yoga center, a flower shop and a cafeteria called “Inés” in honor of the painter .
Architecture
The neoclassical style building has six individual houses, each with an individual entrance to the residence, four doors are located on Monjitas street and three of them on Miraflores street.
The rooms have wooden floors and high cornices and interior walls, sheltered balconies and various corridors that give access to the interior patios of the building, full of plants , palm trees and a water source.
Originally its residential furniture was made up of Persian rugs , leather armchairs, gas lamps and Victorian-style furniture.
