When playing Metro Exodus, keep in mind that, in general terms, we have two different styles of play: linear shooter sections and open world sections .
In both cases, there are a series of general guidelines that you should always keep in mind:

- When you’re exploring bases, turn off all the lights you see. Enemies, in the dark, usually carry flashlights, but they will still have a harder time detecting you.
- Look for tool cases, lockers, boxes …In all of them you will find resources of some kind.

- When you find camps(whether they are the ones complete with a bed, work table and so on, or only with bonfires), always look for resources and ammunition . There’s always something. In the complete ones, in addition, it is common to find weapons, pieces …
- In the open world stages, watch out for the sky. If you get distracted, a demon can take over. They will not kill you instantly, but the scare you take away.
- When you get the night vision goggles, you’d better use it instead of the flashlight. Although they may be uncomfortable at first, they prevent enemies from seeing the bloody light that you have lit in the middle of a cave.
Learn to use binoculars
This is very important in the open world sections. When you advance a bit in the Volga level , you will be given binoculars . Their use is mentioned high above, but they are essential to efficiently explore large areas.
The idea is that you place yourself at any point, but better one elevated . Then, take out the binoculars at the minimum magnification and move them until you hear a sound. To make it easy for you, what you are looking for is this sound .
- The first sound indicates that you have discovered something.
- Zoom in to the maximum and you will hear the sound of a reel.
- The icon at the top leftindicates that you have marked a new location on the map (the icon does not always appear, for some reason).
- The next time you open the map, you will see as many interrogations as there are places you have discoveredusing the binoculars.
