The law of performing prostrations of gratitude is sunnah. That is, it’s better if the person does it. Although the sunnah of the person must try to take advantage of the blessings that have been given by Allah. as well as possible. Prostration of gratitude can be done anywhere, as long as the place is holy and clean.

In al-Qur’an Surah Ibrahim (14) verse 7 also explains how much we must always be grateful. Because it can train us to be grateful every day:

Meaning:

“And (remember also), when your Lord declares; “Verily, if you are grateful, surely We will add (favor) to you, and if you deny (My favor), then verily My punishment is very painful”

The Holy Prophet. himself also prostrated when he heard the news or something that made him happy. As revealed in a hadith:

عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ «إِذَا جَاءَهُ َََََُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِ

Second , Sujud Sahwi

Lafadz sahwi ( sahwun ), according to the Arabic Dictionary, means to forget, neglect, or be careless. While according to the term is the existence of something (be it reading, movement) that is forgotten when performing the prayer.

This means that this prostration is done when there is someone who is in a state of prayer and then he forgets. This can be caused by lack of concentration that makes him forget or neglect, or indeed there are limitations in concentrating.

This prostration is done when someone is praying. Then, the person forgets or doubts over the recitation, movement or the number of rak’ahs of the prayer he is carrying out.

Now, in this case a person is given the opportunity to make prostration for sahwi. The law of prostration is sahnah sunnah. Nevertheless, it is appropriate to be done.

Cause – Performing Prostration of Sahwi

Sujah is performed because of the prayers there is certainly a reason as well. namely as follows:

  1. Forget or doubt the number of rak’ahs being done when you pray.
  2. Forgot to do the sunnah ab’adh tasyahud or early tahiyyatul
  3. Forgot to read prayer qunut(for someone who believes it)
  4. Forgot to put the reading prayer ( rukun qauli) that is not in place. Like: reading Surah al-Fatihah when in prostration)
  5. Forgot to do the number of prayer movements ( rukun fi’li) so that it becomes less or excessive in doing it. Like: ruku ‘done twice, prostration is done only once.

Speaking of these prostrations for prostration, there is a hadith that explains about these prostrations for prostration. Among them are as follows:

Meaning:

From Abu Sa’id al-Khudri ra he said: Rasulullah SAW. said: “If among you all have doubts in carrying out prayer, that is do not know how many rak’ahs he performs prayers three or four rak’ahs, he should dispel that doubt, and continue his prayer according to the rak’ah he believes. Then prostrate twice before greetings. But if anyone has prayed five rak’ahs, then that has fulfilled his prayer. And if there are those who have prayed perfectly as much as four rak’ahs, then that is to be an empty agent for the devil (Narrated by Abu Dawud)

How to do Sahwi Prostration

Because this prostration is done when someone is praying. So, how to do it is as follows:

  1. After reading the final tahiyyat do not greet you first, prostrate again by reading takbir.
    2. Followed by reading the prayer beads, as follows:

سُبْحَانَ مَنْ لَا يَنَامُ وَلَا يَسْهُو

Subhaana man laa yanaamu wa laa yashuu )

“Glory be to Allah the Essence of the One who does not sleep and the Essence of the One who does not forget”

  1. Then takbir to sit back while reading the prayer sitting between two prostrations
    4. Then prostrate again, and read the recitation as was done with the first sahwi prostration
    5. Then sit back, followed by greetings

Well, that is the explanation of what is called sahwi prostration and the procedure for doing it. After knowing the prostration of gratitude and prostration later we will discuss about what is called prostration prostration. Of course you’re curious, here’s the explanation

Third, Sujud Tilawah

Prostration of recitation is prostration made by someone while reading or listening to the reading of the Koran, which in the verse of the Koran there is a verse sajdah. Both when praying and outside prayer.

Law of Prostration Tilawah

The law of performing prostrations is the sunnah. That is, it would be nice to do this prostration, even though there is no mandatory law for this prostration.

Also note that when we are praying in congregation, then when the priest comes to this verse sajdah, and the priest performs prostrations then the ma’mum who follows him must also join in prostration. But when the Imam reads the verse sajdah, but does not prostrate, then it is not permissible to make prostrations.

In a hadith it says:

عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ «إِذَا جَاءَهُ َََََُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُُِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِِ

Meaning:

From Ibn ‘Umar may Allah be pleased with him one time he had read the Koran in front of us, so when he came to the verse sajdah, he was takbir and prostrated, and we also prostrate with him “(Narrated by Abu Dawud)

Location of Verses – Sajdah Verses

In the Koran there are as many as 15 verses sajdah. Now, when someone reads or hears the verses of sajdah, it is said that they are doing prostrations. The sajdah verses are located in the following surah and verse:

  1. Al-A’raf (7): 206
  2. Ar-Ra’d (13): 15
  3. An-Nahl (16): 49
  4. Al-Isra ‘(17): 107
  5. Maryam (19): 58
  6. Al-Hajj (22): 18
  7. Al-Hajj (22): 77
  8. Al-Furqan (25): 60
  9. An-Naml (27): 25
  10. As-Sajdah (32): 15
  11. Shaad (38): 24
  12. Fusshilat (41): 37
  13. An-Najm (53): 62
  14. Al-Insyiqaaq (84): 21
  15. Al-‘Alaq (96): 19

Terms of Prostration Tilawah

The conditions for this prostration are the same as when someone makes a prostration, namely:

  1. Sacred from all filth and unclean. Both the body, clothes and place.
  2. Cover the genitals and
  3. Overlooking the Qibla

The Procedure for Implementing the Prostration of Recitation

The procedure for performing prostration is also the same as doing prostration of gratitude, namely:

  1. Intend in advance
    2. Followed by reading takbir
    3. Then prostrate once. The reading that is read when prostration recitations is almost similar to reading prostrations of gratitude, namely:

سَجَدَ وَجْهِى لِلَّذِى خَلَقَهُ وَصَوَّرَهُ وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَُُُْْْْْْْْْ

(sajada wajhiya lilladzii khalaqahuu wa shawwarahuu wa syaqqa sam’ahu wa basharahuu tabaarakallaahu ahsanul khaaliqiin)

Meaning:

“I prostrate to the Essence (Allah swt.) Who has created me and shaped me and who has opened my hearing and my vision with His power and strength. Almighty Bless God the Most Good Creator. ”

  1. Then sit down and end with a greeting

Well, finally the explanation is over about the kinds of prostrations that we often encounter among Muslims. Including around us, hopefully with a little explanation above we can follow the sunnah or the advice of the Prophet. and we can practice it in our daily lives together.
