One, two, and now the third generation of GBEl extreme speakers. And here everything really goes beyond the usual: autonomy, functionality, sound. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, you will learn everything from the JBL Xtreme 3 review.

Appearance, design, dimensions
The shape of the third Xtreme is ergonomic – an oblong “barrel” without sharp protrusions on the body. Available in 3 discreet shades: black , blue and khaki. The column is wrapped in a fabric with rubberized and metal inserts. Fully waterproof, which means you can take it with you to the beach or have a party by the pool.
On the front side, the brand’s logo is adorned, and it is made in large metal letters in the color of the case and with an orange edging. Directly below them is an elongated white charging indicator.
At the top of the JBL Xtreme 3 are the control buttons, here is their overview and purpose:
- “Play” / Pause to control the playback of tracks;
- sound volume “plus” and “minus”;
- Bluetooth pairing;
- enabling the Patibust function.
In the center of the rear panel there is a rubberized cap, opening which the user gains access to the mini-jack, two USB ports: Type-C and Type-A for recharging the Xtreme 3 itself and other gadgets.
The passives on the sides outwardly resemble the second boombox, the same circle with a corrugated surface on which the logo is applied, but in the third, they were limited to only an exclamation mark, without letters. The edging has also changed, now it has rubberized convex inserts that act as legs if the column is placed on the barrel. The passives pulsate abruptly on the bass.
At the bottom of the column there are rubberized stripes, like the Clip 4 , for a stable position of the gadget on any surface.
The portable model comes with a strap that is tough and sturdy enough with reinforced carabiners to support the weight of the music device. For user comfort, the strap is equipped with anti-slip strips to keep it securely attached to the shoulder. Adjustable strap with bottle opener.
Compared to the second generation Xtreme, the third has slightly decreased in weight: 1.97 kg versus 2.39 kg. Dimensions 29.85 x 13.59 x 13.41 cm.

Battery and autonomy
The gadget is powered by a built-in 36.3 Wh battery, which provides 15 hours of sounding tracks without interruption. Naturally, at maximum volume, the time autonomy will decrease.
Charging is carried out over the wire, through the Type-C input. It will take about 2.5 hours to fully charge the device.
The battery charge will not be displayed on the smart when it is connected to the speaker. The approximate battery fill level can only be found from the indicator on the front of the Xtreme three.
Unlike the Charge 4 , the manufacturer even included in the kit not only a USB cable, but also a 60W charging block.

Sound
JBL Xtreme 3 (say, blue ) will delight even demanding listeners with the following sound characteristics:

The third Xtreme delivers crystal clear sound. Even if the volume is turned up all the way, the sound quality will not change, according to users’ reviews, there will be no wheezing or other interference:
- high frequencies and mids are at a good level, without subsidence and mixing into “mush”;
- instrumental opens up perfectly;
- vocals are conveyed vividly and naturally;
- the bass is not “cut” even at 100% volume.
There is only one thing to consider: the manufacturer warns that 100-watt power can be obtained only when the speaker is connected to the network.
Functional
With its main task – the reproduction of music, the speaker in camouflage color and other tones copes with 5+, but besides that, it can also:
- Pair with other gadgets via Bluetooth 5.1 – supports “Multipoint” if you need to simultaneously connect to 2 devices to stream music, for example, from a smart and laptop without reconnecting.
- Act as a power bank – you can use the speaker to recharge your smart or tablet by connecting it to the Xtreme 3 USB connector.
- Combine with other JBL speakers that support Patibust function. Such a connection will help synchronize music and provide powerful pumping of any party. Tracks will sound even louder and more spacious.
What the third wireless Xtreme doesn’t do is answer calls. There is no microphone here.

Price and quality
To buy Xtreme, you need to have a budget in the range of 8000-9000 UAH. Or wait in stores for the discounts they usually do when the next generation of Jibiel speakers hits the market.
Judging by the videos of users, this boombox has a super-quality shell, inside which not a drop of moisture will penetrate, even if dropped into water. The device does not sink. The mounts and shoulder strap are durable and reliable, making it easy to carry a rather big gadget where you need it. Most importantly, the review of the JBL Xtreme 3 speaker showed that its sound is really extremely powerful and juicy. In general, it shakes well.
