How to use DU Recorder

DU Recorder is one of those applications that as soon as they are installed they become essential for youtubers and video game streamers in general. It allows you to record the screen and broadcast live on the most famous platforms, but it provides many more tools that we are going to learn to use.

With the rise of video games on mobile phones, the door was also opened to Internet broadcasts of players who wanted to demonstrate their skills to the world through platforms such as YouTube, Twitch or even Facebook .

DU Recorder was born for Android and iOS in the heat of these thousands of potential users who were looking for a complete tool to record their games, but it ended up including the live broadcast that we mentioned before and a fairly complete video editor.

Broadcast live

The tutorial works interchangeably for Android and iOS. From both apps we can transmit what happens on the screen on different platforms.

  • DU Recorder is available in the App Store for iOS and iPad , but a few months ago it was removed from the Android Play Store . So if we have an Apple device we download it from the official store, but if we have an Android we will be forced to install an apk .
  • Once the above is done, we choose the ” Live” option .
  • Now we will have to choose a platform to broadcast live : YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Twitter, RTMP and broadcasts on multiple platforms at the same time (the latter two are paid).
  • In our case, for testing, we are going to choose YouTube.
  • DU Recorder will urge us to give you permission to access our YouTube account (in this case) and thus be able to broadcast live. He will also ask us for others to capture our voice through the microphone or to capture everything that happens on the screen.
  • We will have to verify our account (we may already have it verified) by putting our phone number as a backup and waiting 24 hours for the request to be accepted.
  • Once this is done, just click on “Live” , choose YouTube (in our case) and start broadcasting.

Record screen

We come to the second function of this application. With it we can record the screen of our smartphone and, although many operating systems already incorporate this function natively, its simplicity makes it interesting.

  • We just have to click on the “Recording” icon on the screen to start recording.
  • We can control the recording with the floating ball to pause or resume it.
  • Once we finish it by clicking on the Stop button, a new window will open where you can share it, edit it (we will see it in the next section) or delete it . We can also find the video in the gallery of our smartphone.

Edit videos with Du Recorder

To round off the application, DU Recorder offers an editing tool for videos recorded in the app or outside of it. It allows to give the personal touch to all the videos that are saved in our smartphone.

  • We go to the tools section of the application. We can access it by clicking on the fourth button on the top bar.
  • We choose the option “Edit Video” .
  • We select the one we want to edit and click on the “Edit” button at the top right. We can select more than one video clip to edit at the same time.
  • The video editing tool will open from which we can cut, add music, include text, add an intro, increase the speed and apply many more effects (some of which are paid).
  • When we have it ready, click on “Save” and it will be stored in the gallery .

Other DU Recorder Features

Apart from the aforementioned, DU Recorder offers the user several very useful tools if we work with the editing of photos and videos.

  • Join videos and images

If we want to attach an image to a more or less long video, this function will be the one we have to use. With a simple selection of content (videos and images only) we can make montages simply by choosing the order in the project timeline.

  • Convert a video to a GIF

GIFs have become a universal language. In social networks like Twitter they are a phenomenon on the rise where creativity is essential. With this tool we can convert the video we want (that is downloaded to our smartphone) into a GIF.

  • File transfer over WiFi

When we open this section, we will be provided with an address that we will have to enter in the computer’s browser. It is a kind of private cloud (although it is more like an FTP server) from where you can download content on your smartphone.

  • Imagen editor

Another complementary feature of DU Recorder is photo editing. It is a normal and current editor that does not contribute anything compared to those that are integrated into the mobile operating system, but it can be very helpful to have it integrated into the app.

  • Join images

The last tool that this app provides us is used to concatenate images. We can put one after another and cut where we are interested. It can be used to join screenshots, for example.

With this small tutorial we can get the most out of DU Recorder , a very useful app for those users who work with video or are dedicated to broadcasting live content through YouTube, Twitch or other supported platforms.
