How to submit PokéStop proposal

Pokémon Go  is still one of the most popular mobile games. Now  Niantic  has announced that players who meet minimum requirements can start proposing PokéStops to add to the game.

Pokémon Go will let players propose PokéStops

“Very soon we will create the first beta test of the new PokéStop proposal system. This will be the first time Trainers will be able to submit Pokémon GO locations. The proposals will be evaluated for their future inclusion in the game.

This is how they have confirmed from  Niantic  the new process of proposing Poképaradas to add to the popular game of the Nintendo franchise. For those who don’t know,  PokéStops  are a fundamental part  of Pokémon Go gameplay . They are key points on the map in which to get objects such as bait modules of all kinds and a little experience. In addition, they serve as a guide for the Pokémon radar, since the proximity of the creatures is indicated based on the PokéStops in which they are.

However, to date, their choice was up to the development team. Niantic  took advantage of the data from its previous game,  Ingress , to decide the PokéStops, and over time it added some new ones. However, they have decided that it is time to open these proposals to the rest of the players. And who can? At the moment, only Level 40 Trainers from Brazil and South Korea will be allowed . The service is still in beta, so it will be gradually moving to other countries.

How to submit a PokéStop proposal

The PokéStop Proposal Rules are set out in the Help CenterAmong the first issues that stand out is the fact that there will be a limit per day to propose Poképaradas. Some of them will be accumulated for other days in case of not using them. Also, child accounts cannot propose PokéStops. In addition, quality guidelines are established to prevent people from simply proposing their own home:

  • A location with a remarkable history, a place with historical or educational value
  • An interesting work or a unique type of architecture (statues, paintings, mosaics, lighting installations, etc.)
  • A hidden gem or little known place
  • Public parks
  • Public libraries
  • Public places of worship
  • Large transportation terminals (like New York’s Grand Central Terminal)

Finally, the steps for submitting the proposal are defined in the help center itself . The option will be within the  Settings . It will be necessary to take several photos and determine the location on the map. A title and description of the site must also be attached. After that, it only remains to send and the community will be in charge of reviewing the proposal.
