How to share a previous ‘Highlight Story’ on my Instagram Story?

Instagram stories are one of the most used content creation methods among all those that the platform has. Stories have endless tools that allow you to create great photos or videos for your profile.

Instagram stories have some very interesting options. There is, for example, the possibility of sharing content only with some selected people through the ‘Best friends’ option or saving your stories on your profile after the 24 hours in which the story lasts have passed thanks to the featured stories. Even a good cover is placed to highlight them.

Where can you see your Instagram story highlights with the app?

After uploading a story to your Instagram profile, the app gives you the ability to make it featured. These types of stories are basically stories that will be visible on your profile after 24 hours in which a normally loaded story passes.

Featured stories can be seen by both users who enter your profile, as well as yourself. Featured stories are located below the profile description of an Instagram user; They will not necessarily be titled as ‘Featured Stories’  as these can be modified to your preference.

How can you re-share your featured story?

Highlights are usually good stories that you want to keep on your profile, so there may be a situation where you want to share it again. In principle, from the featured stories section itself, it cannot be re-published in your stories , but there is always a trick and we are just going to tell you about it below, are you ready? Go for it.

With the mobile app on Android or iOS

If you have the stories archive option activated in your profile settings, you will be able to share your story highlights again without any problem. If this is not the case, you must activate it by going to your settings, then privacy, then ‘Stories’ and enable the ‘Save stories to archive’ option.

Once you have done that, you just have to enter the ‘File’ section by clicking on the 3 horizontal lines on your profile. There you will be able to see all the stories that you have uploaded to your account sorted by date, you just have to search for the story that you want to upload again and click on the ‘ Share’ button and select ‘Your story’.

This works for both featured stories and stories that have been removed from your profile within 24 hours of being uploaded.

From your Windows PC or Mac

The first thing you should do to upload an old highlight story to Instagram from PC is to search for the platform’s official website from your browser. Before logging in, you have to press the F12 button on your computer’s keyboard to open the page as if it were the mobile application.

Once you enter your Instagram from the web as if it were the phone application, you only have to follow the steps that we mentioned in the previous point since the process would be the same.

Why your Instagram account does not allow reposting the story and how to fix it?

One of the main reasons why you could not share your Instagram story highlights back on your profile could be that you do not have the option in your settings activated so that your stories can be reposted.

Not having that option enabled would cause you to not be able to share any of your stories from the archive again, whether they are featured or not. This would even prevent anyone who wanted to share your stories on her profile from being able to do so.

To fix this problem you just have to make a couple of settings in your account. Enter the ‘Settings’ section of your profile, go to ‘Privacy’ and look for the ‘Stories’ option. When you enter that section, you will need to navigate to the ‘Shared content’ part and enable the ‘Allow sharing in stories’ option.

That way you can now repost your featured stories , even when a user wants to share your stories, they can do so without a problem.
