With the iOS 15 update on iPhone, it is now possible to invite our friends on Android phones and tablets or Windows computers to join a Facetime video call. It’s super easy and we explain how to do it.
The iOS 15 update brings a lot of novelty to our iPhone and one of them is the ability to invite friends to a Facetime call without them having Apple devices.
Until now, these calls were reserved for owners of iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac, but with competition from Zoom and company, Apple has widened the possibilities.
It is indeed now possible for someone with an Android device or a computer with Windows to join a Facetime call.
Steps to Send Facetime Invitation to Android Device or PC
It’s really very easy to invite a friend with an Android device or Windows PC to join our Facetime call.
Obviously, we must first have downloaded and installed the iOS 15 update on our iPhone.
Once this basic step is done, all you have to do is open the application: Facetime .
In the upper left corner, there is an option: Create a link . We press it.
We can then choose a name for our call, just to recall the nature of this meeting.
Then, we just have to choose the sharing option that we want for this link. You can send it by text, email, Facebook, etc.
We can also press the option: Copy , in order to copy the link of our call and paste it into the communication application that we want.
Here’s how to create and share a Facetime link to our friends on Android or Windows devices.
Once our friends receive the link, they will be redirected to a web page where they can enter their name and join the conversation.
Unsurprisingly, they won’t have access to all of the features like Memojis and Stickers, but they will be able to mute their microphone and / or camera, change the view, and exit the call.
So, if we are a Facetime addict, we no longer need to use another video calling platform to be able to chat with our friends on Android and Windows.
