How to scan the course in Mario Golf: Super Rush

The distance to the hole, the elevation and the topography of the ground are very important factors that you should consider when playing Mario Golf: Super Rush. Uneven terrain will cause the ball to drift in a direction you may not have intended, so it is best to scan the field of play before swinging. Here’s how to digitize the course in Mario Golf: Super Rush so you can make the perfect shot.

How to scan the course in Mario Golf: Super Rush

To scan the terrain, before taking a photo, simply press the R button and it will enter “scan mode”.

In Scan mode, you can check the terrain in front of you or on the green to verify elevation and distance to the tee. This can be very helpful in determining where you want your putt or shot to aim to account for any uneven terrain that may cause your ball to change direction when it hits the ground.

For example, if the ground is sloping to the left, you may want to aim your shot to the right of the hole so that the ball will roll toward it when it hits the green.

To use the “Scan” function, simply use the left analog stick to move the scope, R to enter and exit mode, A to aim, and Y to reset your sight.

After aiming in ‘Scan’, you will receive the distance to the hole below the reticle, the elevation on the right side, and the ground topography just below the distance as shown in the screenshot.
