How to React or Clap at Clubhouse in a Chat

Clubhouse is a new social network, but it is a very different social network than what we were used to . Your image is not the most important thing here, since Clubhouse is a social network based on voice and conversations . A kind of live podcast with many participants.

Clubhouse is the social network of the moment

Today we are going to talk about what happens inside a room and a conversation in the Clubhouse. Specifically in how we can react when someone is speaking or applaud the intervention of a user , although it is not something intuitive.

How you react at Clubhouse

Clubhouse does not allow at this time to react officially to a conversation or to the intervention of a user. We only have 4 options, Leave the room, Ping, Raise Hand and Microphone, there is no react button.

However, users have come up with a way to “react” to Clubhouse. These are the two current options:

  • Stop silencing yourself and clap your hands. It’s a simple way, you activate the microphone and instead of intervening in the conversation just clap your hands so your reaction can be heard in that clubhouse room.
  • Stop muting yourself and re-mute yourself multiple times repeatedly. When a person talks inside a clubhouse room or room, a circle appears around their profile picture indicating that that user is active in the conversation. If you repeatedly mute yourself and activate the microphone, this circle will appear and disappear repeatedly, and that is interpreted as an applause or positive reaction to an intervention.

Clubhouse on iPhone

At the moment this is the only way to react to an intervention in Clubhouse, although the app is in full growth and could add more options soon . If you are interested in Clubhouse, we already have numerous tutorials that may interest you:
