We all know that a game controller can make games much more enjoyable on a Windows 10 PC. That is whether you are used to them from a console or not. Anyway, the first step after getting the controller is to connect it to your rig, right?

If it’s a USB controller, things are pretty straightforward, but what if it’s a Bluetooth? In fact, some users complained that they cannot find it in Windows 10.

To make things easier, Microsoft updated the text in the Add a Device dialog so that the Bluetooth sample list includes drivers in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19624.

How can I find my game controller in Windows 10?

1. Prepare your controller

Make sure your controller is charged, turned on, and the Bluetooth connection is turned on (if applicable, of course).

2. Search for your driver in Windows 10

To start adding a new Bluetooth driver, click the Windows Start button or press the Windows key, then click Settings (the little cogwheel) and then Devices.

If it’s a wired controller, just plug it into your USB port. If it is a wireless controller, go to the configuration of Bluetooth and other devices from Windows> Settings, then select Bluetooth and then click the + button to add a new device. Then click on the Bluetooth button.

  • Does a wired controller reduce input lag?

It’s up for debate, but wired controllers should be a bit faster than wireless, especially if you use a USB 3.0 port.
