Before explaining how to put smilies on Instagram I want to reassure you that this is a very simple operation to perform, since Android and iOS smartphones come with a collection of emojis already integrated into the default keyboard or other keyboards. popular use, such as Google ‘s Gboard keyboard .
However, please note that if you are using an iPhone , the emoji keyboard may be disabled. To enable it, go to the iOS Settings menu ( the gear icon on the home screen), then go to General > Keyboard > Keyboards and, if the Emoji keyboard is not in the list, add it by pressing the Add button first new keyboard and then on the Emoji item on the screen that opens. How to put emoticons on Instagram photos
Since your intent is to put smilies on Instagram , I guess you are interested in the possibility of adding them within the caption of the photos you post within the platform.
To do this, you can use the Instagram app for Android or iOS and you can also proceed from your computer (from the official website of the social network or using the application for Windows ), using the photo and video publication tool.
Then press on the [+] symbol and then, from the multimedia gallery of your device, choose the photo or video you want to upload to Instagram . Then press the Next button twice in a row to continue. At this point, using the text field Write a caption , write an accompanying text for the photo, possibly adding emojis.
To perform this last operation, tap on the text field and then, from your smartphone , press the button with the emoticon symbol on the keyboard to access the emoji menu, in order to choose the one to add. From a computer , on the other hand, you can open the emoji menu by pressing on the emoticon icon located in the text field relating to the caption.
In this way, you can add an accompanying text message to the photos and embellish it, through the use of emojis. At the end, press the Share button to publish the photo on your Instagram profile .
How to put emoticons on Instagram stories
Even in Instagram stories it is possible to put smileys and succeeding is very easy, as it is enough to use the multimedia editor made available by the social network in its smartphone app .
That said, after launching the Instagram app , swipe left on the main screen to open the Stories media editor. Once this is done, take a photo, record a video or import content from your device’s media gallery and then tap the Aa key to type a text and, again using the keyboard, press the emoticon icon to enter an emoji. When you’re done, hit the Done button at the top right.
Alternatively, you can add emoticons on Instagram using the options in the stickers menu: press the square emoticon icon at the top and then choose whether to put emoticons in Instagram stories using the appropriate reaction sticker or by adding a GIF .
When you have finished customizing your Instagram story , press the Your Story button to publish it.
How to put emoticons on Instagram name
Would you like to put smileys in the section dedicated to the personalization of your name on Instagram ? No problem: you can do it easily from your smartphone and even from your computer . In both cases, to perform this operation you must first go to your profile section and press the Edit profile button .
Once this is done, from your smartphone , customize the name section by adding smilies via the emoji keyboard. When you have finished making changes, click on the End button .
From a computer , on the other hand, you can open the emoji keyboard using the Win + key combination . (i.e. the Period key ) or Ctrl + Cmd + Space , on Mac , in order to insert the smileys in the name text field . When you are done editing, press the Send button , located at the bottom.
How to put iPhone smileys on Instagram
Would you like to put iPhone emojis on Instagram ? In this case you must take into account that, as explained in the previous chapters , Instagram uses the emojis already present on the keyboard of your device.
Therefore, if you have an Android smartphone and want to use iPhone emojis , you must use a third-party app, such as zFont 3 on the Play Store (or on alternative stores for devices without Google services) that changes the style of fonts and emojis.
