How to set iPhone vibrate

If your intention is to vibrate iPhone for incoming calls and other types of alerts, you should know that you can set the vibration both when the phone is in silent mode and when the ringtone is on. How to do? I’ll explain it to you right away!

How to put iPhone ringtone and vibration

To set the iPhone ringtone and vibrate , take your “iPhone by” and make sure that the physical button Ringer / Silent located on the left side of the smartphone is set to ON .

If not, move the key in question and the Ringtone message that appears on the screen will confirm that you have correctly activated the ringtone of your iPhone. For the detailed procedure, you can refer to my guide on how to turn on the ringtone on iPhone .

Once this is done, access the iOS Settings by pressing the gear wheel icon on the Home screen, select the Sounds and haptic feedback option and, first, move the lever relative to the item Play haptic feedback in Ring mode OFF to ON . _

Now, in the Sound styles and haptic feedback section , tap on the Ringtone item, press the Vibration option and choose the type of vibration you prefer among Synchronized , Accent , Warning , Heartbeat , Quick etc.

Alternatively, you can also create a custom vibration by selecting the Create a new vibration option and tapping your iPhone screen, keeping in mind that finger pressure corresponds to the intensity of the vibration. Then press on the Stop and Save items , enter the name to be associated with the vibration model created in the Vibration name field and press the Save button again .

The indications I have just given you refer to the vibration for incoming calls. From the Sounds and haptic feedback section , by pressing on the SMS ringtone , Voicemail message , New email , Calendar alerts etc. items, you can also activate the vibration for other types of alerts.

How to put iPhone silent with vibration

If you prefer to activate silent mode on your iPhone and enable vibration for incoming calls and other types of alerts, even in this case, simply access the smartphone settings and check the vibration status.

To put iPhone silent with vibration , then take your “iPhone by” and, first of all, move the physical button Ringtone / Silent located on the left side of the smartphone to OFF , in order to silence iPhone (you will see the message Silent Yes appear on the screen ).

Now, press the gear wheel icon to access the iOS Settings , tap the Sounds and haptic feedback item and, in the new screen displayed, locate the Ring / Silent mode switch section . If necessary, move the lever for the item Play haptic feedback in Silent mode from OFF to ON , to enable vibration even when your iPhone is in silent mode.

Once this is done, press on the Ringtone option and tap on the type of vibration you prefer ( Synchronized , Accent , Warning , Heartbeat , SOS etc.) by tapping on it. Then repeat the procedure also for the options SMS ringtone , Voicemail message , New email , Calendar alerts etc., in order to customize the vibration for other types of alerts as well.

How do you say? Would you like to put iPhone silent without vibration ? Also in this case it is sufficient to access the Sounds and haptic feedback section and disable the vibration for all alerts or only for those of your interest.

To proceed, take your iPhone and, after activating the silent mode using the physical button located on the left side of the “iPhone by”, access the iOS Settings by pressing the gear wheel icon .

Then press on the Sounds and haptic feedback item , scroll down until you find the Ring / Silent mode switch section and move the lever relating to the Play haptic feedback in Silent mode option from ON to OFF , in order to remove vibration iPhone .

If, on the other hand, you want to disable the vibration exclusively for individual alerts, tap on the option of your interest ( Ringtone , SMS ringtone , Reminder alerts etc.) among those available in the Sound styles and haptic feedback section , press on the Vibration item and, in the new screen displayed, put the check mark next to the None option .

Furthermore, still proceeding from the Sounds and haptic feedback section , you can also disable vibration for system controls and interactions. To do this, move the lever for the System Haptic Feedback item from ON to OFF and you’re done.

Finally, if you need to completely silence your “iPhone by” for a limited period of time, please note that you can activate the Full Immersion mode , introduced with iOS 15 , which allows you to temporarily block notifications, sounds and vibrations, except for those related to calls and SMS (you can do this by activating the Do Not Disturb mode but, for incoming calls, the line will be busy).

Apple introduced the ability to vibrate iPhone keyboard with iOS 16 . This option is disabled by default but you can activate it simply by accessing the settings of your “iPhone by”.

To do this, take your iPhone, access the iOS Settings by pressing the gear wheel icon and tap on the Sounds and haptic feedback item . Then press on the Keyboard Feedback option and, in the new screen that appears, move the toggle next to the Haptic Feedback option from OFF to ON .
