How to protect yourself from mosquitoes in the garden

The summer is almost upon us and, with the arrival of the sun and the heat, the mosquitoes will arrive on time.
These annoying insects, through painful bites, can ruin lunches, dinners and days outdoors, making it virtually impossible to enjoy your garden.

However, there are natural, effective and safe methods to protect ourselves from mosquitoes in the garden thanks to which we can live the outdoor areas of the house with serenity and spend pleasant hours outdoors without hassles and risks.

Protect yourself from mosquitoes in the garden

All the mosquito species present in Italy, in addition to being very annoying, can attack humans and animals, even domestic ones, causing the appearance of localized wheals that cause discomfort, pain and itching.

Mosquitoes, through their bites, can also carry diseases including West Nile Fever, Yellow Fever, Zika virus and filariasis, a dangerous disease that affects dogs and cats.

To keep mosquitoes away from inside homes, it may be sufficient to install mosquito nets on windows and French doors and spread repellent essential oils such as lemongrass into the environment.

But how to protect yourself from mosquitoes in the garden and in the outdoor areas of the house? Placing plants unwelcome to mosquitoes may not be enough, as these insects manage to reproduce thanks to a few millimeters of stagnant water and generate billions of eggs throughout the summer season.

Every year we are therefore literally invaded by common mosquitoes and tiger mosquitoes and, in order to enjoy the outdoors, we are forced to resort to coils or anti-sting lotions to be applied to the skin.

These products, in addition to being an ongoing expense, can have a negative impact on the environment and our health and are often not enough to eliminate the problem.

In gardens it is often necessary to take more effective measures to be able to keep mosquitoes away and be able to enjoy a lunch under the gazebo, an afternoon dedicated to gardening or an evening outdoors.

Fortunately, there are effective natural remedies to ward off mosquitoes even in large outdoor spaces. One of these is pyrethrum, a natural and safe insecticide extracted from the flowers of Tanacetum cinerariifolium.

Pyrethrum, when used correctly, has no toxicity problems and eliminates common mosquitoes and tiger mosquitoes effectively and safely. It is in fact an insecticide allowed in organic crops and which can be used in gardens, vegetable gardens and orchards.

iZanz: the method to protect yourself from mosquitoes in the garden

iZanz is an Italian product based on an innovative and patented system to eliminate mosquitoes from gardens thanks to the action of pyrethrum or even synthetic pyrethroids according to personal preferences.

It is an automated anti-mosquito system, which nebulizes a solution based on pyrethrum or synthetic pyrethroids in outdoor spaces, so as to disinfect and protect both small and large open areas from mosquitoes.

The plant consists of misting nozzles that are installed along the perimeter of the garden resulting in camouflage among the leaves. The system is then programmed to deliver the right amount of pyrethrum in the form of light fog, in the two moments of the day when mosquitoes are most active, that is, at sunrise and sunset.

The dispensing, although it takes place for just over a minute, is sufficient to keep both common mosquitoes and tiger mosquitoes away within 24 hours without affecting bees, butterflies and other pollinating and environmentally beneficial insects.

The innovative system, one of a kind, therefore represents an effective and completely safe method to remove mosquitoes from the garden and finally be able to enjoy the open spaces of your home.
