How to make the video to the screen: PC
If you are using Windows and want to make the video on the PC screen , the instructions to which you must follow are the ones you find below. I can assure you it’s a real breeze.
Xbox Game Bar
On Windows 10 or later, you can make the video to your computer screen using the Xbox Game Bar . It is a utility included in the most recent versions of the Microsoft operating system that offers the possibility of recording video of gaming sessions, but which is useful to do the same with any other activity visible on the desktop.
The only thing you need to take into consideration is that it only works on computers equipped with one of these video cards: NVIDIA GeForce 600, NVIDIA 800M or later, AMD Radeon HD 7700 series, HD 7700M, HD 8500, HD 8500M, R7, R9 or later. That said, in order to start the Xbox Game Bar, click on the Start button (the one with the Microsoft logo ) on the taskbar , type “xbox game bar” in the search field and select the relevant suggestion . If you prefer to use hotkeys, you can also start the utility by pressing Win + G keys on your computer keyboard.
If you are using Windows 10 and in carrying out the steps described above, the Xbox Game Bar does not start, it is because it is disabled in the operating system settings. To solve, press the Start button on the taskbar , click on the Settings icon (the one in the shape of a gear wheel ) from the menu that appears and, in the screen shown on the desktop, select the Games item , then the Xbox Game Bar and move on Activated the lever at the top right.
At this point, the utility components should be visible on the desktop. So, to take advantage of the Xbox Game Bar, click on the REC button in the Acquire tab (if the card is not visible, to solve it click on the button with the camera located on the main bar of the application). For video capture started, if you hide the widget Xbox Game Bar (except the one for the recording control) served as pressing Win + G .
If it is your intention to include audio in the recording as well, using the microphone as an acquisition device, you must first enable the specific function, by clicking on the button with the microphone always present in the Acquire tab . To select the audio capture device and adjust the volume, use the tools in the Audio box (if it is not visible, to remedy it, press the button with the speaker located on the main bar of the utility).
When you want, you can stop recording the screen by clicking on the button with the square in the Capture Status tab and the resulting video will be saved directly in the Windows Video \ Captures folder .
Please note that it is also possible to record the screen with the Xbox Game Bar without starting the application first, using these key combinations: Win + Alt + R to start and stop the screen recording, Win + Alt + G to record the screen for 15 seconds and Win + Alt + M to enable or disable the use of the microphone during screen recording.
OBS
If you are using an older version of Windows or are looking for a more versatile alternative to what is already included in the Microsoft operating system, you can try OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) . It is a free, open source and very versatile software, thanks to which it is possible to record the PC screen , acquire audio / video streams from external sources and transmit video in streaming.
To download the program to your PC, visit its website and click on the Windows button . Once the download is complete, open the .exe file obtained and, in the window that appears on the desktop, press the Yes , Next (twice in a row) and Install buttons , then complete the setup by clicking on the Finish button .
Once the OBS window is displayed on the desktop, choose the Optimize only for recordings, I do not direct option that you find in the wizard configuration screen and click on the Next buttons (twice in a row) and Apply settings .
Press, therefore, on the Settings button located at the bottom right, choose the item Exit from the sidebar and check that the Simple item is selected in the Output mode drop-down menu (otherwise you can do it yourself).
Now, click on the Browse located next to the Recording path field and indicate the folder in which you want to store the recordings, then make sure that in the Recording quality drop-down menu the option The same as the live one is set (otherwise you always provide) and served from the Recording format drop-down menu to select the video format of the recording. To save the changes, click the Apply and OK buttons .
Proceed now to indicate to OBS the sources from which to capture the videos, by clicking on the (+) button under the Sources box , choosing the Capture the screen item from the menu that appears and pressing the OK button (twice consecutively). Next, move and / or resize the desktop pane in the OBS window to include the area of the screen that interests you.
If you also want to associate the webcam recording with the desktop recording, click on the (+) button under the Sources field , select the Video capture device item from the menu that appears and press the OK button (twice). Then, move the webcam frame to your preferred spot in the video.
I point out that if you wish you can make a recording of your PC screen including the audio, by clicking on the (+) button in the Sources box and choosing the Capture audio input option or the Capture audio output option , according to your needs and preferences.

How to make screen video: Mac
Now let’s move on to the Mac side and find out how to proceed to make the video on the screen in this case. The indications you must follow are those you find below. Don’t worry, it’s always very simple.
Screenshots
If you are using a Mac updated to macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later, you can make the video on the screen using the special “standard” function called Screenshot (or Screenshot , on older versions of macOS), which allows, as easily understood by the name itself, to capture screenshots of what is displayed on the desk and to record what happens on it.
To use it, click on the Launchpad icon (the one with the colored squares ) on the Dock bar , then access the Other folder on the screen displayed and select the Screenshot icon (the one with the camera on a white background ) . Alternatively, you can start the tool using the key combination cmd + shift + 5 .
At this point, on the macOS desktop you will see the utility toolbar: click on the Record Full Screen button to create a recording of the entire desktop or on the Record Selection button to create a recording of only a portion of the screen. Then, press the Record button or click anywhere on the screen (the cursor will be changed to a camera icon ).
When you see fit, you can stop recording by clicking the Stop icon visible on the menu bar. You will then be shown a screen with the preview of the recording made in the lower right corner of the screen and by clicking on it you can view the result of the acquisition and make any changes. The resulting video file is automatically saved on the desktop.
I also point out that, if you deem it necessary, before starting the recording you can change the acquisition parameters, by clicking on the Options button that you can always find on the toolbar of the utility and deciding in which position to save the videos, whether to set a timer before starting the acquisition and whether to also record the sounds using the microphone.
QuickTime Player
Another tool already included in macOS that you can use to make the video to the screen is QuickTime Player . In reality, it is a multimedia content playback application which however also allows you to create recordings of what is displayed on the macOS desktop and on the screen of any iOS / iPadOS device connected to the computer.
To be able to use it for your purpose, start QuickTime Player, clicking on the Launchpad icon (the one with the colored squares ) placed on the Dock bar , accessing the Other folder on the displayed screen and selecting the application icon (the one with the gray “Q” on a black background ).
At this point, click on the File menu at the top left, select the New screen recording item from the latter and if you are using macOS 12 (Monterey) or later versions, use the toolbar that you see appear on the screen, proceeding similarly to how I have already explained to you in the previous step on the Screenshot utility .
If you are using an older version of macOS, instead, click on the button to start recording , then click on the screen to record it in full or drag the mouse to create a selection rectangle to capture only a portion of it.
If you want to include the microphone audio as well, first click on the icon with the down arrow and select the correct configuration from the menu that opens.
To stop recording, press the Stop button on the menu bar. You will then be shown the preview of the video. If you decide to save it, click on the File menu and on the Export as item from the latter, then select the resolution you prefer from the options that are shown to you, indicate the output path and click on the Save button .
How to make screen video: Android
You can also make the video on the screen by acting as a smartphone and tablet. More precisely, if you wish to intervene on an Android device, the instructions you must follow are the following.
Default function
If you want to make the video to the screen and you are working from an Android device, you must first know that some devices have a native recording tool .
Generally, the tool in question is accessible after selecting a special icon attached to the notification center or from the app menu of the operating system or, again, by pressing a specific key combination . Unfortunately, however, I cannot provide you with more precise information in this regard, since the steps to be taken may vary depending on the make and model of the smartphone, as well as the version of Android in use.
To give a practical example, to make the video on the Huawei screen, just press the power button and the Volume (+) button at the same time . This will start a countdown, at the end of which, automatically, a recording of the device screen will be made.
The successful registration is confirmed by the presence of a bar at the top and can be interrupted by pressing the Stop button located on this same bar. ADV Screen Recorder
If your Android device does not have a default screen recording function or in any case if you are looking for an alternative solution to it, I suggest you turn to the ADV Screen Recorder app . This is a free application that allows you to record the screen using multiple extra features, such as the ability to include your own shot using the front or rear camera and to add microphone sounds, all without the need for permissions. root . It is compatible with Android 5.0 and later and basic is free, but offers in-app purchases (at a cost of 1.19 euros) to unlock some additional functions.
To download and install the app on your device, access the relevant section of the Play Store and press the Install button . If you are using a device on which the Play Store is not available, you can download the app through an alternative store . Then, start ADV Screen Recorder by selecting the relative icon that has been added to the home screen and / or drawer.
Now that you see the main screen of the app on the display, accept the terms of use by touching the Accept item that appears on the display, press the ALLOW button to consent to the various requests for access, tap the (+) button located at the bottom right, touch the OK item to grant the app the additional permissions required and then the word Start now , so as to start the app in the form of an overlay icon.
Proceed, therefore, with the recording of the screen, selecting the icon with the camera visible on the right side of the display and pressing the REC button attached to the menu that opens.
If you want, during the recording phase you can add a drawing or an annotation on the screen, by tapping on the ADV Screen Recorder icon on the edge of the screen and on the button with the pencil . At the top left will appear a palette through which to set the color of the virtual pencil. You can also decide to enable the use of the device’s camera by pressing the webcam icon that you can always find in the app menu.
If you deem it appropriate, you can pause the recording by pressing again on the ADV Screen Recorder icon located on the edge of the display and on the Pause button , while to stop it completely you have to tap the Stop button that you always find in the same menu.
All recorded videos are automatically saved in the gallery of the device and are also visible on the main screen of the app.
I tell you that if you deem it necessary you can change the settings of the app and change the parameters relating to the quality of the video and audio. To do this, press the button with the three vertical dots that you find in the upper right part of the main screen of ADV Screen Recorder, select the Settings item from the menu that opens and adjust the values you find in the various sections available.
How to make screen video: iPhone
Do you own an iPhone and would you like to be able to make the video to the screen if so? I’ll immediately explain how to proceed, find all the information you need below. Also, keep in mind that the instructions are valid for iPad as well , it doesn’t change anything.
Screen recording
If you want to record the screen of your iPhone, you must first know of the possibility of using a standard feature, called Screen Recording . It is available on iOS 11 and later and allows you to record everything that happens on the device display, without turning to third-party solutions.
To be able to use it, the first thing you need to do is call up the Control Center , swiping from top to bottom from the top right corner (if you have an iPhone with Face ID) or swiping from bottom to top. ‘high from the center (if you have an iPhone with a physical Home button). Next, tap the button with a large circle and a smaller one inside it .
After a short countdown it will then start recording the iPhone display. When you deem it appropriate, you can stop recording by tapping the above button in the Control Center again. The movie will be saved in the Photos app , to be precise in the Videos collection .
If you are unable to see the button to activate the function to register the screen in the Control Center, it is because you have not yet activated the function in question from the settings. To solve, proceed as follows: select the Settings icon (the one in the shape of a gear wheel ) found on the home screen and / or in the App Library, tap on the Control Center item in the new screen displayed and press on the (+) button next to Screen Recording .
Web Recorder
If you are using an iPhone updated to an older version of iOS or in any case as an alternative to the default functionality of the “iPhone by” to record the screen, you can turn to the alternative Web Recorder app , which is free and offers the possibility to use the internal browser to search the web and record your mobile phone screen while surfing the internet.
To download and install Web Recorder, access the relevant section of the App Store , press the Get button , then the Install button and authorize the download via Face ID , Touch ID or Apple ID password . Then, start the app by selecting its icon added to the home screen and / or to the App Library.
Now that you see the main screen of the application, use the search engine to reach the site you intend to register for, then press the circular button at the bottom to start the registration and tap the Stop button to stop it when you deem it appropriate .
You can then save the resulting video by pressing the Save button . All the videos made are grouped in the appropriate section of the app, accessible by clicking on the button with the camera located in the lower right part of the Web Recorder screen.
