How to make it to the Elder Scrolls 6

Let’s start with the good news: for over a year now we have an official reason to wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 – the game was announced at E3 2018. There is also bad news: at least the next couple of years, TES 6 will definitely not be released. At E3 2019 not a word was said about it, plus, according to rumors, the first Bethesda will still release the “space” RPG StarField . So the holiday is postponed indefinitely, and it’s time to think about what to do while waiting. And we have two options for you.

Still try fashion

The Elder Scrolls is by far the premier gaming franchise for those who love both designing and playing mods. And it’s even a little surprising that there are still a lot of people who love TES, but have not tried it with mods. Now is not 2012-13, so for the same Skyrim there are already a lot of proven modifications, the level of which is close to commercial products. You can simply replay the original storyline with improved graphics , you can add mods that improve gameplay and mechanics , you can try out completely new storylines , or even turn Skyrim into an erotic adventure simulator.

In catalogs with mods, you can drown for several years, constantly finding something new. Fly over Skyrim in your own airship? No problem . Return to the game content that was cut by the developers before the release? With joy . Solve a mysterious murder in the Abandoned City? Here you go .

TES 4 Oblivion, released in 2006, was perceived rather restrainedly, therefore, with mods for it, it is not so good, but the third part, Morrowind, does not lag far behind Skyrim. A selection of mods on the graphics is simply mandatory for her – after all, the game of 2002 looks absolutely terrible today. But there are a lot of story mods for this game.

The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall Unity

Finally, you can remember about The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall, released as early as 1996. The game itself is distributed free of charge, and enthusiasts have recently released a mod for it that translates the game to the Unity graphics engine (see this link for all the details ). Pictures of 2019, of course, should not be expected, but it looks good enough to familiarize yourself with the classics. Fortunately, there is something to look at – for example, the game world is thousands (!) Times larger than that of the later parts of The Elder Scrolls.

Pay attention to The Elder Scrolls Online

TES Online started out as the most MMORPG in the known universes. Taking the popular setting, the developers have composed entertainment that is more interesting for online fans, and not for fans of The Elder Scrolls. The original game had three rival factions, tons of raids and group quests, a fancy PvP mode with sieges and ratings, and a lot of other similar nonsense.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind

Many things remain to this day, but in 2017, the developers of TES Online sharply turned their game towards fans of the “classic” The Elder Scrolls. The huge Morrowind expansion is almost entirely dedicated to everything that players have always loved the series for. The events take place on the island of Vvanderfell from the third part, however, seven hundred years before the events of the original, and the writers wrote an incredibly cool main story and side quests – thought out to the smallest detail, with several options for passing, voice acting, beautiful videos and branded humor. Asking a stranger in Morrowind can easily turn into an adventure for several hours – in general, just like it should be in The Elder Scrolls.

The plan worked, and Bethesda decided to release add-ons like this every year. In the spring of 2018, with the Summerset add-on, perhaps one of the most beautiful locations in the history of The Elder Scrolls in general appeared in the game – the bright and sun-drenched Summerset Isles. Well, just a couple of months ago, the Elsweyr add-on was released, along with which dragons appeared in the game. They travel across a vast territory, and to defeat them requires the efforts of a group of players.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr

That being said, The Elder Scrolls has become an incredibly flexible game. The difficulty automatically adjusts to the level of your character – in the end, you can play alone. And if a more experienced friend volunteers to run with you, the game will be rebuilt in such a way that it would be interesting for both. Thanks to this, in the casual-plot part there is no race for equipment and the resulting inequality: this is simply not necessary, because any quest can be completed in things bought literally in the nearest store.

On the other hand, the developers are constantly throwing new dungeons for hardcore MMORPG fans, up to very serious 12-person tests. New PvP modes, new classes are added to the game, and they are experimenting with mechanics. In addition to the major updates that we have already mentioned above, throughout the year the team releases several small DLCs, each of which contains something interesting: from a couple of instances to, for example, a new city. In fact, Bethesda made TES Online a kind of official analogue of “Skyrim with Mods” – a huge game in which something new appears regularly. For the officiality, however, you have to pay: at least for a set of the base game (we recommend grabbing it at the sale) and three main chapters, and if it drags on completely, then also for the ESO Plus subscription (by the way, $ 15 monthly), which includes everything DLC,

Both mods and TES Online in terms of content are easily enough for a couple of years – just wait for TES 6. Well, there is already an even longer wait for the seventh part. It’s not for nothing that Bethesda boss Todd Howard recently noted that the sixth part in the company is being developed for at least a ten-year life cycle .
