How to make believe you have blocked someone on WhatsApp

How to give the illusion of having blocked someone on WhatsApp.Do you want to make believe that you have blocked someone on WhatsApp or do you simply want to be able to use the app being practically invisible? In the next few lines we will tell you the simple steps to take to disappear from the WhatsApp application without… seriously disappearing!

It is useless to deny it: there are times when we like the idea of making a contact of ours believe that he has blocked him on WhatsApp, without actually doing it. In fact, when we block someone on the app, this person will no longer be able to communicate with us in any way: calls, video calls will not start and all messages (audio, photos and videos) will NEVER be delivered to us. Even when we (eventually) decide to unblock her, none of his previous messages will ever reach us.

In addition to this situation, you may need (for various reasons) to use the app without being seen. Read on to find out  what to do to disappear from WhatsApp without losing the ability to send and receive messages and calls.

How to make believe you have blocked a contact

Let’s get to the heart of the simple steps to take to disappear from WhatsApp:

  1. Open the WhatsApp app;
  2. Tap on SETTINGS;
  3. Select the PRIVACY item

At this point you will have to scrupulously follow the instructions below and set them for the individual items, considering two variants: you want to disappear FOR ALL, you want to disappear only for some people.

You want to disappear for everyone

  • LAST ACCESS IS ONLINE
    • Who can see my last login: NONE
    • Who can see when I’m online: IDENTICAL AT LAST ACCESS

What does it mean? That no one will be able to see (in your chat under your name) the time you last logged in. By checking NONE you too will NOT be able to see the last access of your contacts. Furthermore, by selecting IDENTICAL AT LAST ACCESS, the word “online” will no longer appear (and, even in this case, you will not see it for your contacts either).

  • PROFILE PICTURE
    • check NONE

What does it mean? Your contacts won’t see your profile photo, but you will continue to see theirs.

  • INFO
    • check NONE

What does it mean? You will notice that by going to SETTINGS you will enter a section that brings up your profile picture + username + written under your name. By removing the INFO, that item will be empty. Know that that is one of the things that disappears when you truly block contact, so hiding it will almost give the other person certainty that you have blocked it.

  • READING CONFIRMATIONS
    • this item is found at the bottom of the PRIVACY section. You will have to remove it so that the two ticks of the messages never turn blue.

PLEASE NOTE: the main feature that follows from blocking a contact is the impossibility of communicating with the other person and this – on WhatsApp – is represented by the only gray check that never becomes double or blue. Having not actually blocked anyone, when a contact of yours decides to write to you to understand if you have blocked him or not, seeing the double check, he will know that you are only a / a crafty! But if you want to be evil inside, you could put the phone in air mode or deactivate the wifi and make it possible to use WhatsApp only with the Wifi … as soon as you reactivate everything you will receive the messages (and then the double check will appear).

You want to disappear for some users

The procedure just described is the same even if you decide you need to disappear only for some users. In this case, instead of checking NONE, you will have to select MY CONTACTS EXCEPT … and search from your address book for the people you want to “cut” out of your WhatsApp activity.

Conclusions:

As you will have understood from the PLEASE NOTE written a few lines above, this trick could be short-lived if you do it with the intent of making someone believe that you have blocked it . Some settings, on the other hand, can be very useful, such as NEVER be seen online: this could be useful for you at work or if, in general, you no longer  want to hear you say “ but you are online why aren’t you answering me? “.
