A friend of yours asked you to share the information you received via email via WhatsApp . You have therefore tried to open the message of your interest on your smartphone and press the share icon but, among the applications available for exporting the content, there does not appear to be WhatsApp. Don’t panic! Even if the famous instant messaging service does not support the direct import of email messages, there is a way to remedy the problem and copy texts and attachments received via email (therefore documents, photos, videos, etc.) inside it.
If you’re wondering what I’m referring to, know that I’m talking about the possibility of manually copying the content of emails in text format or in the form of a PDF file and importing it into WhatsApp chats, by simple copy-and-paste or with the of sharing documents in chats. The latter feature can also be used for email attachments, which can be imported into WhatsApp conversations using the sharing functions of other apps or by saving them on your device’s memory.

How to forward an email on WhatsApp for Android
If you want to forward an email on WhatsApp and you use an Android smartphone , this section of the tutorial is best for you. Below, in fact, you will find explained, word for word, how to copy texts and attachments from an e-mail message in WhatsApp using the operating system of the green robot. Enjoy the reading!
Forward the text of an email
As already mentioned above, to forward the text of an email in a WhatsApp chat it is possible to follow two different paths: that of the simple copy-and-paste method , sharing the text or creating a PDF file to then share in the famous instant messaging app. Alternatively, you can also simply send a screenshot of the email.
If you want to take advantage of the classic copy-and-paste method , start the app you generally use to manage email on your device (e.g. Gmail ) and open the message you want to forward in WhatsApp. Therefore, make a long tap on the first word of the passage you want to share in the chat and use the indicators that appear on the screen to select the portion of text of your interest. Finally, press the item Copy present in the on-screen menu.
If you want to select the entire message, make a long tap anywhere in the text, then press the icon to access the advanced options in the copy menu (e.g. ☰) and choose the Select all item first and then the Copy item . Finally, start WhatsApp , open the chat where you want to forward the text you just copied, make a long tap on the message entry field (below), select the item Paste from the menu that opens and send it all by pressing on the airplane icon located in the lower right corner.
If, on the other hand, you want to share the text , carry out the same procedure that I indicated in the previous paragraphs to highlight the text of the body of the e-mail and then, in the on-screen menu, press the Share button . At this point, choose the WhatsApp app from the icons on the screen and press the name of the user to whom you want to send the selected text, to automatically paste it into the message sending text box. Then press the send button to send the text on WhatsApp.
If you need to forward an email that is very long and/or has particularly elaborate text formatting, it might be a good idea to transform it into a PDF document and send it as an attachment on WhatsApp.
To do this, open the email message you want to forward in WhatsApp and call up the print function in the app you use for your emails: in Gmail , for example, the print function can be called up by pressing the ⋮ button located in correspondence with the sender’s name and selecting the appropriate item from the menu that opens.
On the next screen, therefore, select the Save as PDF option from the list of available printers and confirm the creation of the document, first touching the PDF button (top right) and then the folder in which to save the file. Some e-mail clients may have the function of saving in PDF format directly incorporated (e.g. Save as PDF ): therefore, you just need to press this button to keep a copy of your e-mail in PDF.
Once this is done, start WhatsApp , open the chat where you want to send the document, press the paperclip icon present in the text input field, on the right, touch the Document icon , select the PDF you just generated and send it to the recipient by pressing on the airplane icon .
Alternatively, you can simply take a screenshot of the email and then send to WhatsApp as a simple image. In this case, after launching the email app and viewing the email message, press the combination Standby Key + Volume Down to capture the screen (I suggest you read this article of mine in case you encounter difficulties in this ‘operation).
Once this is done, start WhatsApp and open the chat in which to send the screenshot: press the paperclip icon , select the Gallery icon and import the image to send it to the recipient.
Forward email attachments
If you want to forward email attachments in a WhatsApp conversation, all you have to do is open them, press the share button in the app you opened them with (e.g. Word for DOC/DOCX documents ) and choose WhatsApp as the target app. Alternatively, you can press the button to save the attachments to your device’s memory and then use the classic WhatsApp function to send attachments.
To proceed, therefore, start the app you usually use to manage e-mail, open the message that contains the attachment of your interest and select the latter, in order to open it in the reference application (e.g. Word for DOC/DOCX documents ). Once the app has started, press the share button , specify any export preferences (for example, in Word you must first choose the Share as attachment option and then indicate whether to create a Document (DOCX) or a PDF file ) and select WhatsAppas the content destination app. Finally, select the recipient to send the attachment to, press the airplane icon and you’re done.
If you prefer to download the attachments locally and then send them using the appropriate WhatsApp function, open the e-mail message containing the files of your interest, press the download button and wait for the operation to finish. Once this is done, start WhatsApp , open the chat in which to share attachments, press the paper clip icon (bottom right), choose the Document option (if you need to share documents or other types of files) or the Gallery option (if you need to share photos or videos), select the files you have previously downloaded to your device and send them by pressing the airplane icon, bottom right.
How to forward an email on WhatsApp for iPhone

Forward the text of an email
As already seen for Android , the text of an email on WhatsApp can also be forwarded on the iPhone in various ways: by copying and pasting the message, sharing the text or generating a PDF version of the same. Alternatively, you can also take a screenshot of the screen to capture the email message. Here are all the details.
To copy the text of an email, start the app you usually use to manage email on your iPhone (e.g. Mail ), open the message to be forwarded on WhatsApp and make a long tap on the first word of the text you want to share . Therefore, use the blue indicators that appear on the screen to select the portion of the message to forward on WhatsApp and select the item Copy from the menu that appears on the screen.
If, on the other hand, you want to copy the entire message, make a long tap anywhere in the text and first touch the item Select all and then that Copy from the menu that appears on the screen, to copy it to the clipboard.
Now, open WhatsApp , select the chat where you want to forward the email, make a long tap on the message composition field (below), select the Paste item from the menu that opens and send the text by pressing on the icon of ‘airplane located in the lower right.
Alternatively, if you want to share the text directly, follow the same steps as above for highlighting the body text of the email. Then, in the menu that appears, select the Share option and choose the WhatsApp app from the list of icons. At this point, select the recipient, so that the text is automatically pasted into the message text box. Finally, press the send button to send the text on WhatsApp.
If the text you intend to send on WhatsApp is particularly long and/or has particular formatting, you can think of sending it in the form of a PDF file . To achieve this, open the email message you want to send on WhatsApp, press the share button or the forward button (in Mail it’s the one in the shape of an arrow pointing to the left , located at the bottom of the screen) and select the Print option .
On the next screen, press the share icon at the top and choose the WhatsApp icon from those listed. Now, locate the recipient , press the Next button and finally tap the airplane icon at the bottom to send the PDF. Simpler than that?
Alternatively, you can take a screenshot of the email. If you have an iPhone with Face ID , press the side key + volume up key ; if you have an iPhone with a Home button , press the latter button in conjunction with the side button (I told you about it in detail in this tutorial of mine ). So start WhatsApp , select the recipient’s chat, press the (+) icon and select the Photo and video library item to import the screenshot to forward.
Forward email attachments
If you need to forward attachments you have received via email on WhatsApp, start the application you usually use to manage email on your iPhone (e.g. Mail), open the message containing the attachment of your interest and press on ‘ icon for the latter (if the file has not yet been downloaded to the phone’s memory, you will have to press it twice: once to start the download and once again to open it).
A preview of the file will appear (if iOS can handle it, otherwise you’ll just see an icon with the available open options). At this point, press the share icon (the square with the arrow inside, top right) and select WhatsApp from the list of available apps.
Finally, indicate the recipient to whom to send the file, press the Next item located at the bottom right, then on the Send one (top right) and you’re done.
How to forward an email on WhatsApp for PC

Forward the text of an email
To forward the text of an email on WhatsApp, all you have to do is access the web service or the client you usually use to manage email on your PC (eg Gmail , Outlook or Apple Mail ) and open the message of your interest. Once this is done, select the text with the mouse or the keyboard (if you don’t know how to do it, my tutorial on how to select text with the keyboard might come in handy ) and copy it: to do this, right-click on any word among those selected and choose the Copy item from the context menu or, alternatively, press the combination Ctrl+C (Windows) orcmd+c (macOS) on your computer keyboard.
At this point, start WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp client for Windows or macOS, connect with the app you have installed on your phone (if necessary) and select the conversation where you want to forward your email. Then move to the message composition field (below), right-click on it and select the Paste item from the menu that opens, to paste the previously copied email text. Alternatively, press the combination Ctrl+V (Windows) or cmd+v (macOS) on your computer keyboard and, finally, click on the airplane iconlocated at the bottom right, to send the text to the recipient.
If your email is particularly long and/or complex, you can think of printing it in PDF using the appropriate function included in your PC’s operating system (or obtainable through third-party programs) and import it into WhatsApp as an attachment, by pressing on the icon of the paper clip and then on that Document , which appears on the screen. You can also decide to save it in EML format to forward it on WhatsApp: I told you about it in detail in this tutorial of mine .
In case you want to share the email in image format, you can take a screenshot. In this case you can rely on the standard tools present in the PC operating systems, specifically Snipping Tool on Windows and Screenshot on macOS (I told you about it in detail in this tutorial of mine ). After capturing and saving the screen containing the text of the mail message, launch the WhatsApp client , click on the paper clip icon and choose the Photos and videos option to import the screenshot.
Forward email attachments
As far as attachments are concerned, things are even simpler: all you have to do is download the files you want to forward on WhatsApp, downloading them via the web service or the client you usually use to manage email on your PC, after which you have to open WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp client for Windows or macOS, select the chat of your interest and attach the contents downloaded just now.
To do this, click on the paperclip icon , then on the Document button or on the Photo and Video button (depending on the content you want to send) and select the files to send. Easier than that?
